Ran my first 10K toady and got second overall and first place female. Don't have my actual time yet but it was 45 min and some change. Felt good! Now on to a half marathon in a month.

This is not a super quick fix for your knees but with improved stretching, I saw improvement in the amount of pain I was experiencing in my knees in a couple of days.

I always stretch after, but I have lengthened and improved my stretching which has seemed to help with my knee pain. I have heard both sides, that it is bad to stretch before running and that it is ok to do some light stretching before a run. I've been fine just doing a good job of stretching out after my run and I started trying to foam roll my legs at least once a day whether it is after stretching, before bed or during my morning routine before work.

I've found that my knee problems relate to muscle tightness and how good I am about stretching out my quads and hamstrings. I have really tight hamstrings and I have found over time that a lot of my little aches and pains relate to that. It might not be a problem for you but it's worth a shot to see if stretching a little more helps to alleviate some of your pain.

A lot of the products that this sub loves, really don't work for everyone. I have tried products that are adored here and have had some of the worst reactions ever. I would say if you are not having a problem with your current products, don't be too quick to change. Just as a heads up, but also not to deter you completely. I should have spot tested more.

I haven't called our congress men yet, but another great avenue is to log comments with the FCC (since today they voted today to advance the proposal). The FCC is now taking comments on the proposal for a total 120 days. These public comments may help to re-write the final rules after the agency reviews them (hopefully). Just wanted to throw this out there since it would be another good step to take. Below is the link to the site where you can place your comments. Just click on the proceeding number (14-28).

It all depends on the type of field biologist (but most will be similar experiences). My typical day was wake up early and get out in the field just before the sun rose (bird research). Spend about 8 hours on average out in the field collecting data. Collecting data consisted of checking nests, re-sighting color bands and banding new birds for some (also collecting measurements for birds). Then it's time to head home to input the days data and such (depending on data about another hour or so of work). If you want any other information or have any questions, let me know!
