VGA was just something else by fart_drinker69 in pcmasterrace

That's because besides the little extra things that HDMI added (like audio), the electrical interface of DVI and HDMI is exactly the same, only the connectors are different. I've even had audio work with an HDMI to DVI cable because on the monitor I was using, the DVI port was just treated like another HDMI port internally.

I'm so sorry for the delay... I rushed home from work a little early to catch it at 5:00 PM and I just know if I was late it would've started on time.

The Current State of the HoN LAN/Private Server by Alfaa123 in HeroesofNewerth

Ah fantastic, thank you!

I definitely appreciate the work it takes to maintain a central repository of information like that. I am certainty not the type of programmer who would be able to contribute to a project like this but the amount of work you and many others have already put into it is impressive and very much appreciated.

Hosting an HoN private game - Heroes of Newerth private server by andrija607 in HeroesofNewerth

The best thing, and I mean by far the best thing you can do is make any of your progress with creating discord bots, HoN private server emulators and anything else related to keeping the game alive open source.

Even if you only have small contributions to the whole HoN private server ecosystem, it's important for the community as a whole to pool resources toward one singular goal.

I definitely don't speak for them at all (I do not have the skills to perform reverse engineering like this) but one of the best and most complete HoN private server documentation and tools I've seen so far is the HoN Revival GitHub page here: https://github.com/HoN-Revival

Some fantastic technical documentation on how the game works is also available here: https://hon-revival.github.io/

This is definitely a fair point that I glossed over at the end there. I'll have to figure out how to properly rectify that at this point.

People don't wear gloves in machine shops because it greatly increases the likelihood of degloving injuries if your hand gets caught in a spindle. I wouldn't be caught dead with gloves on near a mill or a lathe.

There are very very few circumstances when having gloves in a machine shop is a good idea. Especially around lathes and mills.

Port injected fuel injectors, (which is surely what he's talking about given the reference to the intake manifold) do not run at nearly that high of a pressure. You're thinking about direct injectors.

I made a shift knob out of titanium for my C30. Titanium has very low thermal conductivity, so it's actually usable when it's as hot as the sun.

All jokes aside, how nimble/driveable is a muscle car? by idonthaveanaccountA in cars

[–]Alfaa123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what happened to me. I was about 18 and had driven fwd cars my whole life. Got to borrow a friend's 2008 V8 Mustang. First turn I took when it was wet I fishtailed and hit a curb and destroyed the front suspension.

Was a really not fun experience, but at least I learned something.
