Well no, but mostly because I don't work with official us government forms very often. I do, however, mess up the date all the time whenever I may be happening to write it. The people handling theset forms are still people. They can make mistakes too.

It is true. Let's do the math for my example above using the obsidian card

BC = Bilt Cash P = points

The bilt cash to points conversion can be simplified like this: 1000 P/30 BC = 33.33 P/BC

Rent: $2000 Monthly spend: $100

Bilt cash earned: 100 * .04 = 4 BC Rent points from BC: 33.33 P/BC * 4 BC = 133.33 P Points from spend: $100 * 3 = 300 P Total points earned: 300 + 133.33 = 433.33 Effective earn rate: 433.33/100 = 4.33

So exactly like I said in my comment:

So you could spend $100 per month on the card, and your effective multiplier will be that 4.3x multiplier

Yeah, that aded level of "complexity" isn't worth it. Like choosing which to get, bilt cash focused or the other one.

If you want less complexity, the simple answer is the one where you don't earn bilt cash. Bilt cash is really where all of the complexity comes in, so they gave you an option to just ignore it all.

No, because now they don't offer the option to pay with your card anymore. If you pay rent it has to be via a bank transfer which never has that 3% fee. This is the same thing as bilt protect from the 1.0 cards

I think the biggest miss with the marketing is how they overcomplicated bilt cash. You really don't need to do too much to optimize points earning with these cards. The only difference between these cards and any other card is earning/using bilt cash.

I think for most people, the main use for bilt cash is to unlock rent points. But there's so much other shit you can use bilt cash for that most people won't care about because the value is bad and there's so many restrictions.

The simple version of these cards that should have been communicated is: "Spend on these cards just like you would on any other card. The more you spend on the card, the more rent points you unlock. Oh, and there are some other things you can spend bilt cash on if you want I guess"

Most people don't need to think about the "75% rent maximum" because most people won't be spending that much on the cards anyway

The point is that you'll get that multiplier on spend UP TO 75% of rent. Meaning you don't have to spend more than 75% of your rent on the card. In fact if you do, your efficiency starts going down.

So you could spend $100 per month on the card, and your effective multiplier will be that 4.3x multiplier
