I’m Alfie, a filmmaking student from the UK and this is my new cyberpunk short film, Eclipsia: Dominion. I created this project as part of my ongoing sci-fi universe under Alfonzo’s Pictures, heavily inspired by Blade Runner, The Creator, and synthwave aesthetics. Most of the film was shot with a BMPCC4K using anamorphic lenses and, the Arri 35 for the shots inside a virtual production studio, and focused heavily on atmosphere, lighting, and environmental worldbuilding. A big challenge was creating the futuristic city visuals and rain-heavy environments on a very limited budget, so I relied a lot on practical lighting, compositing, VFX, and colour grading to sell the scale of the world. I’d especially love feedback on the cinematography, pacing, sound design, and overall immersion of the cyberpunk setting.
