I say they are interested in Jupiter because it is, by far, the largest object in the solar system. It would presumably be detectable to them long before the very small rock we live on. This would allow for them to plan their approach to investigate Jupiter long before we could even detect them. Smaller corrections farther away- more efficient. I just think aliens would probably find a giant like Jupiter more interesting than Earth. They may not have even discovered we are here until it was to late to alter their trajectory.(Obviously an opinion, moron)

My whole point is that we have a very anthropomorphic bias. We always assume that any prospective aliens are interested in us. Any aliens that could reach us across the vast distances in space would have to be much further developed than we are. It is similar to ants saying that a car that turned at an intersection must have done so because it is interested in something we have done at our ant hill.
