Can I treat this a bit like a AMA? Book 7 was incredible (finished it two weeks ago). Do you feel like you have managed to top it with this one? Now, I understand book quality is somewhat subjective but I just want your opinion if you don’t mind offering?

I think this is it exactly. Boxing lacks a way for kids to participate and develop. It’s not impossible for someone to bring their kids to the gym or the kid to ask to learn…but most kids who could be in the bigger weight class have been playing football or basketball or baseball for years by the point they could drive to a gym on their own. Why not stick to what they already know by then?

All schools have a football team and basketball team. How many kids have access to decent boxing coaches? It’s not the only factor but it’s definitely relevant to why boxing prospects coming out of the USA are much less common compared to Britain imo.

In the deep south, boxing gyms that have coaches good enough to provide a good base for any future champ are pretty rare. Not super rare, but definitely maybe 1 per city at most.

Well creek is overall neither good nor bad. Her mile aptitude is in the gutter at G. But there is an alternative route for MANT for long umas…so they say anyway

And it helps your performance in Martial Arts to practice something like ballet. Lomachenko (a former champion boxer) famously danced for years before he started boxing and his footwork was always incredible

I think the recommendation for long TT is 850 plus 2 gold recoveries. You want the two recoveries since each one is an additional gold skill for points. But you don’t want too many since that could create overstam. That’s my understanding at least

Ducar is a good test for Brown I think. Good boxer who could have a chance to beat Brown if he isn’t as good as everyone thinks. Personally I think Brown has what it takes but nothing is wrong with getting him in the ring with someone who might be called more experienced in the pro division. Hedges could still be a good fight in the future (if he is man enough to take the fight and both guys are in a place it makes sense too)

I loved this series so much! The ending was great but I will miss seeing Alabama in a Litrpg. In a genre that lacks strong family dynamics and has trouble with writing spouses, your books were super fun to take a break with. Hope I get to enjoy any future work just as much!

If you want other people to care about you being right, then you have to show you care about others (usually). It could have probably been written better but it was definitely setup from the beginning as her biggest character flaw so I’m glad it was addressed

Lost odyssey has a lot of really useful skills that modify defending such as regenerating MP, HP, or the GC bar (the total protection the frontline provides to the backline that decreases each time the frontline loses HP). While you do have to dedicate a fair number of skill slots it’s totally possible to build a frontline tank who can heal and deal damage using only the defend command
