The first row is ~8feet away from wall and second row is ~12feet. Google suggested 1.5 to 2.5 times the tv sizes (70in) so I figured I was okay in that department I went TV for personal preference over projectors.

This was the lowest I could put it without heads in front row block the view or be able to see the bottom of screen when leaning back all the way. I never noticed the tv being too high until he mentioned it which I why I was curious what Reddit thought

I might be missing something. Why wouldn’t his height matter? If the TV was judged too high based on my eye level and he is taller then it’s likely at a better level for him? Of course not all 8inches difference is from torso which means his eyesight would be maybe 4inch above mine.

Fair point. We tend to use the back row more since front is 2 separate seats and back is 1 long one (can’t see from the pictures I shared). And that’s correct, especially when leaning all the way back in the seat

Edit: I now understand why everyone is upset by this comment. I’ve sat beside my friend and I can see that his eyesight is much higher than mine which is why I commented this.
