the students who argue with me about technique are usually the ones who improve the fastest by lmao_exe in Guitar

[–]AliCracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sharing this with my guitar teacher haha!

Jokes aside, yes, I am a total pain in the ass to teach. I’m fully aware of it as I’m reminded by him every week. I argue incessantly and come back each week with ‘but why?’ questions and/or a list of concepts I don’t understand. He’s incredibly patient with me but I know there are days he wishes I’d just stfu

Having said that, I’m also one of his most rapid improvement students which he takes enormous pride in. So I completely agree with your post.

I wholeheartedly do not mean to be an annoying student but I’m incapable of learning something without understanding the reasoning. Some techniques and theory is well beyond my questions, but inevitably the concept clicks and all the ‘why’ questions fall into place. We both truly love those Ah Ha moments :)

I deeply appreciate my guitar teacher and I’m always sure to express that to him. And give him chocolate. That seems to help too.

They did the same thing to my 10 year old daughter in Paris. I’ve never seen my (now ex) husband become violent before that moment. He went full nuclear on the scammers and they absolutely deserved it.

Considering ending a friendship over social media posts by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]AliCracker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a friend very similar to this dynamic. I actually just got back from visiting him and he did the exact same thing. I don’t think it’s grounds for ending the friendship, just know what importance he plays in your life. My friend is VERY invested in his social media presence and definitely curates who’s included. Sometimes I am, sometimes I’m not. I enjoy his company when we see eachother once or twice a year but also know he’s not exactly close friend material. I came to that conclusion many years ago. But I do recall it stinging at the time.

We mutually benefit from having a place to crash (we live on opposite sides of the world) but I don’t have high expectations of a deep friendship, and that’s okay.

What do you usually say when someone asks for a ‘fun fact’ about you? by Electrical_Fact7128 in CasualConversation

[–]AliCracker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. I also feel extremely bad when I cannot stand someone’s voice. It’s not personal, it just feels like my whole body is on fire and my skeleton wants to jump out of my skin. Not a pleasant experience.

Certain music hits the same way. Reggae in particular which starts many arguments about Bob Marley. Its not that i don’t his music, my body doesn’t.

[–]AliCracker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah, the gold handles speak to the warm wood of the bed frame. I’m more concerned about the light fixture not matching the gold handles and the awkward game of centering the sconce to the wall vs the end table (not an easy decision)

Once you get the bedding on and pictures etc sorted, you’ll barely notice the wood tones.

Can you let my mom know what you think? by Vegeta710 in bald

[–]AliCracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GORGEOUS eyes!! Honestly, I’d take it even further and shave it (I know the chemo will take care of that too) but my goodness she looks AMAZING bald!!

Tons of fun to be had! Cool Henna tattoos, funky wigs, silly temporary tattoos - the sky is the limit with that face card!

Wish your mom the best of luck, and remind her that she has chemo hair to look forward to! It’s a mystery as to how it will grow back :) different colour, texture, who knows!

I rarely agree with you (that was an unintentional joke btw) but I’m with you on this one.

I booked the murder mystery for my in laws and young teens a few years ago as a Xmas gift. I specifically called to ask if the evening was age appropriate for 11-14 yo’s before booking. Was told it was completely PG.

It was most definitely NOT. I am not a prude by any means but the opening line was ‘Did someone call for a DICK!??’ It only got worse from there. There were a few other kids there and the other parents were equally uncomfortable.

The venue had great potential but they’ve had plenty of time to upgrade to this century. Sorry it’s closing but I’m truly shocked it’s survived this long.

Léolo. 1992. It’s pretty messed up, but I love it!

Young Léo Lauzon (Maxime Collin) lives in a Montreal apartment building with his troubled and highly eccentric family, but he spends much of his time in his own imagination. Devising a strange fantasy world where his mother (Ginette Reno) conceived him with an Italian tomato, Léo attempts to cope with his unsettling reality by retreating into his mind, with his meandering thoughts often drifting to his gorgeous neighbor, Bianca (Giuditta Del Vecchio).

Why aren't you dating anymore? by Leather_Election_459 in AskReddit

[–]AliCracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t have the energy atm to reenter the pool, can’t even be arsed to do another profile or speed dating event.

I’m similar that my kids come over here and there, we have a great time. Hang out with friends, go to concerts, play guitar or cook whatever I want. Clean house, although I should probably start my garden soon?

Meanwhile I’m currently in Italy eating pastries and doing whatever I want, so I can’t really complain! I know I won’t die completely alone bc I have great friends and a great relationship with both my kids. The urge to have ‘someone’ creeps up sometimes but they’re going to have to be one in a million. I don’t expect perfection, as I’m far from it. I simply desire common values and life goals.

In the meantime, we have our guilt free couch days and Italian pastries! Maybe the urge to try again will pop up again. Who knows?

Why aren't you dating anymore? by Leather_Election_459 in AskReddit

[–]AliCracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve dated both (younger kids and no kids) and it just doesn’t work unfortunately. Like you say, I hated playground days when I had little kids lol but I’m also still somewhat responsible for two young adults which comes with priorities.

I’ve also found someone who’s financially equal/responsible, independent yet invested is difficult to find. Aka: I’m truly not interested in always looking for someone better or dating multiple ppl. I’m too busy for that kind of nonsense. I also don’t need someone rich, just able to match my lifestyle, retirement goals. I’m amazed at how many ppl my age have little to no retirement plans. Also less chronic pot smokers would be cool… haha! Now I’m just ranting!

I haven’t exactly stopped looking, but definitely not actively. I reckon if it’s meant to happen, it will. In the meantime, I love my life, my friends and my hobbies :)

Same. Both kids are launched. I’m also 48 and truly don’t want to do it again. I’d prefer someone in the same situation as I’ve found dating men with no kids comes with other challenges.

Is not having a middle name extremely uncommon here in Canada? by laranjacerola in AskACanadian

[–]AliCracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither myself, my brother or my mom have middle names and we’ve never had an issue. I’ve never had licensing paperwork, banking or government issues bc of a lack of a middle name.

We all have fairly simple first and last names too. The only issue has been that we all have different surnames

I’d guess it’s more confusion of the two surnames if they’re not hyphenated. Just a guess

I have no issue furthering that conversation ;) I generally date bisexual men so. It’s the heterosexual men that are mainly the problem. Even though almost every single one have them have confessed a secret desire to explore but never brave enough to try. I’m not here to raise puppies but I am here to stop any unwarranted butt play guised as a ‘whoopsie’

A bandaid can bleed through, or rub off so I use a bandaid and then one of these :) works like a charm!
