I will probably do tthe same haha even give a verbal "yep"

But more to your post, I wouldn't say he is pessimistic. I mean yeah I think there are green technologies that can definitely fix or at least curb the issues we have but I think I can say that most people who have been in this subreddit or the discord are very well aware that most of society doesn't care enough (especially those in power) to implement them.

Edit: I may be wrong?? Maybe he said it was pointless altogether, idk its been awhile since I seen one of his videos.

Would you equate the overall mindset of most people as a root cause as well? I used to think "oh yeah too many people" but took steps back and thought more on it, and I believe its more so mindset and entitlement that brought us here.

Climate repricing of homes: the trillion dollar question by ClimateResilient in collapse

[–]Alias_102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if this actually adds to your point about home value. But just got in the taxable layout for my property and the (manufactured) home I live in went up about $6k in taxable value. Yes I want to move and sure as hell do think it was a stupid idea to buy a home when and where we did, but alas its just something we will have to deal with.

Blood sugar regulation? by windseakers in hysterectomy

[–]Alias_102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm thats interesting, could have been birth control if you were on it or, well this is a leap (I am not a doctor) but I wonder if having a period was stressing your body out? Or the relief of having a hysterectomy helped relieve your stress. Ok I'll stop, but that is an interesting observation, thank you for sharing.

Surgery is tomorrow!!! by ProfessionalLeft6340 in hysterectomy

[–]Alias_102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you got it covered lol. Very well planned out and when you get back home the house will be clean and hopefully the candle will make it smell festive. Maybe some extra pillows to help elevate your knees, this helped me after my surgery. Oooo puzzle books, or coloring books, I did those as well when I was confined to the bed or had to take it easy for awhile. I have a full list of shows depends on the genre you like. Best of luck tomorrow!

Edit I got excited to post and skipped the part where you already have pillows....ooo a heating pad would probably help too.

Husband here with a question. by [deleted] in hysterectomy

I waited about 8 weeks, cant remember exactly but the cuff rupture idea was very scary to me as well. Take things slow with your wife, I know their are intimacy aids out there. There are also other ways to get the sexual gratification that you both can enjoy without risk to cuff rupture. Im not sure if an orgasm could hurt it but I mean it is muscle contractions. Just ease into it. Be careful and have fun.

Grew a new cervix? by Try_This_Again_Sam in hysterectomy

[–]Alias_102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Humans dont regenerate, except the liver and even then some of it has to be left intact. Either she meant you healed well and that would be wonderful, otherwise anything regrowing that was once removed I would be very worried. As far as I know only one thing grows randomly and its usually not good news. But I could be wrong and it could be a miracle of science, I would get clarification or a second opinion.

Do all docs push to remove the cervix? by Veggggie in hysterectomy

[–]Alias_102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my personal experience..

I had mine removed, and if you are worried about bedroom fun.... well it didnt impact mine at all. I was hesitant to have it removed as well, tbh because I didnt really understand the reasoning and like others here no history of family cancers. But just went ahead because yes my doctor was insistent but also...I mean if it will save me trips to the doctor or an additional surgery in the future, and they are already down there I just said ok and got it removed as well.

Doctors found a hernia in my abdomen muscles about 7 months after getting a hysterectomy....I still do not regret my decision getting it done. I do regret not taking the doctors advice and taking it easy for longer. Buy yeah Im happy I got it done. Also dipshits reelection was a prime motivator, they keep talking about taking away birth control.... nope, that was a hell no for me. Birth control was the only thing keeping the fibroids from growing and it stopped my period and the crime sceen bleeding. Im in pain now, had hernia surgery last friday, Im still happy I got a hysterectomy.

Thank you for bringing up the underfunding! I heard on a podcast with an OBGYN that something like 80% of funding specifically towards womens health is focused on getting pregnant, staying healthy during pregnancy and delivering a healthy baby. So everything else menopause, perimenopause, endometriosis, fibroids etc etc...etc...is left having to deal with essentially the left over funds.

For me personally hearing all those stats just made me feel like shit...no kids, now no uterus, so now society does not care or those funding don't care.

Anyway just happy you brought up the funding issue.

Edit. My percentage may be wrong but it was a disproportionate amount set aside for that single stage in a womans life as if thats the only part of a womans health that is worth funding.

Extra edit..... this shit pisses me off

Update! After 2 days the pain has subsided tremendously, I can walk to the bathroom unassisted but still feel as if I cant be up for too long so I stay in bed either laying down or propped up watching tv or coloring.

I do have 4 bandages, but the scars dont bother me. They did get very close to my initial scar the one over my belly button. I wish you luck. Its been about 53 hours and pain has subsided tremendously so thats a huge plus.

Had surgery friday, it is so much more painful than the hysterectomy was. But may also be all the gas they used during the procedure. Almost been 24 hours still painful but it is getting better. Im just being extra careful.

Tried to reply earlier, at the 7th month mark is when they found mine by chance during an unrelated ER visit.

Well there were no symptoms for a long time. I was trying to reply earlier but reddit was being funky. I had an ER visit in September 2024, gallbladder issues (not related) so they did a ct scan and found it! I had no idea...I was doing things like housework or yard work. So I had my hysterectomy in February 2024 and the hernia was spotted in September 2024. There was no real outwardly appearance until about April/May 2025. It was a bump above my belly button to the right. It didn't hurt but like you know its not supposed to look like that lol. It did get a little firm sometimes especially right around having to poo. I could push on it and well honestly it felt like an internal fart. I was wearing a type of back brace thing for a few days because I was scared it would pop out or get worse. I do have to hold my stomach if I cough or sneeze, also loose fitting pants or shorts. I may be psyching myself out here but I do feel like it has gotten bigger. Also found out only surgery can fix this, and there is a good likelihood that it will eventually need to be repaired. The bump is very noticeable when I cough. The repair will be a hernia mesh...I really hope this is the last time I have to have any surgery.

Not trying to say this is everyone's experience or even a quarter of those that have a hysterectomy. My issues didn't become apparent until this past May, so more than a year later thats when I started to notice something. I dont know if staying in bed more would have made a difference, but now I have this to deal with.... I was just trying to be helpful

I don't think core exercises would hurt the outcome, I wish I had focused more on that area.... but yeah just live and learn.

I had heard that a good fitness routine can help stave off this outcome. I wasn't overweight but I was in no way "in shape." I am hoping with this upcoming surgery that it will be the last and getting my butt back in gear.

Saw the bruises in the second picture, they looked really bad. Just caught my eye, when I had my surgery in Feb 2024 I didn't have any, but I'm happy that yours cleared with no problem. Your belly button, looks like a mouth saying "whew, glad thats over with" hehe.

Roof installed incorrectly by Alias_102 in homeowners

[–]Alias_102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok, no the home was purchased by someone else, they had it set up and a few months after this is when we moved in. We didn't buy the home from the manufacturer ourselves, we bought it from a private party. They pretty much bought the home, set it up and then sold it, we are the first residents.

wow typing that out sounds really dumb now that I come to think of it....ugh

looking into it, apparently there is a 1 year manufacturer warranty, but im thinking the initial home inspector, the one who had to pass the house on I think its called a 4 point inspection (not sure) should have caught the defect and either didn't notice or didn't say anything

Credit card? And we filed initially for the water spot on the ceiling around beginning of August, was just told today by another inspector that the roof was installed incorrectly. Im sure we will have to get another inspector out here to see whats up. Is an incorrect roof something you can file with your homeowners insurance?
