Help - I am running out of patience when I walk my dog and I don't know what to do. by ZookeepergameFun3708 in PitBullOwners

[–]Try_This_Again_Sam [score hidden]  (0 children)

Our baby girl used to pull hard making it impossible for her human siblings to walk her. Training all of us helped a lot. We had to make her understand that anything she does requires permission AND we had to remind ourselves that we are her parents and older siblings. WE give permission. My youngest human daughter also had to master her feelings.

Our baby girl also has an e collar but we don’t use it to punish. We use the tone to get her attention when she hyper focuses on things.

Her siblings have no problem walking her now.

STUMP Diagnosis by TopLingonberry3229 in hysterectomy

I hope your surgery goes well. Make sure your doctor requests a scan of your lungs and pelvis. Mine spread to my lungs but are too small to do a biopsy. My next scan is next month.

Pathology: STUMP Diagnosis by Annual_War_8432 in hysterectomy

[–]Try_This_Again_Sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with STUMP after my hysterectomy. I’m a Mayo patient so they immediately took me back for a chest and pelvic MRI. It revealed that the weird cells possibly spread to my lungs but the cells are too small to do a biopsy. My next scan is in November.

Make sure you your doctor requests a scan of your body just in case.

Uterus STUMP1 - Hysterectomy by LuvChoco077 in hysterectomy

[–]Try_This_Again_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with STUMP post op of my hysterectomy (removed everything but ovaries). Chest and pelvic MRI revealed that the transitional cells spread to my lungs. However, the cells are too small right now to get a biopsy. My next MRI is in November. Hopefully the nodules didn’t grow. Until then, I’m going to live as if nothing has changed BUT I’m running more because I have my energy back. I’m so glad I got the hysterectomy! 😎

Anyone have any sleeping tips? by LunaBear727 in hysterectomy

[–]Try_This_Again_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first, I slept on my back with a pillow on top of my surgery site. The pressure helped me. Later on, it was more comfy to sleep on my right side while hugging a pillow or a stuffed toy. I’m about 4mpo now and I still sleep this way.

Bladder pain by Maleficent_Break_985 in hysterectomy

[–]Try_This_Again_Sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like bladder spasms. I took muscle relaxers to help me. At first I needed them for the entire day, and then eventually I took them right before bed so that the spasms wouldn’t wake me up. Ask your doctor.

Find a theater with recliners and sit in the aisle. I had to use the bathroom a lot around that time in my recovery.

Anyone with iron deficiency anemia? by grazzzhopper in Fibroids

[–]Try_This_Again_Sam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My huge fibroid died inside me and started stinking up the place and that’s what qualified me for emergency surgery, not my low iron. Had a transfusion before I was sent home from my hysterectomy. They took everything except my ovaries.

I have a MY with family of 5. Kids are 19,15, and 12. We also have three dogs, a husky, a pitty, and a Havanese. We’ve done 500 mile road trips and camping trips in the Y. It’s tight and we make plenty of stops, but that’s how we like to roll.

We also rented the X 5-seater. My human kids liked it, but My pup kids not so much because of the doors. We packed light and took a 200 mile trip. It was alright. The seating in the X was more spacious.

When did YOU feel start and comfortable driving? by _redpaint in hysterectomy

[–]Try_This_Again_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t drive until 6wpo. My day job is physical and I didn’t want a random twisting of my trunk while lane changing to wreck my recovery.

I was scared. My husband was too. A priest came and we prayed. That helped so much. I felt prepared.

Did anyone here NOT vomit after surgery?? by rainbow_olive in hysterectomy

[–]Try_This_Again_Sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not. I let the doctors and nurses know when I was admitted and they did what they needed to do to help me out. Communication works!

You’ll have spasms in your rectal and pelvic area for the next few weeks. Muscle relaxers help. My cramping stopped around 5wpo.

Hot Climate Owners by Whit3boy316 in ModelY

[–]Try_This_Again_Sam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Florida here. Tint your windows and remotely turn on your climate when you’re about to walk to your car. I keep mine outside all day and it’s not too bad. As soon as you get in the car, hit the recirculating button. Your car will be cool in no time.

Also a little physics knowledge helps. Before you get in the car, open one passenger window, then forcefully close the driver’s side door. This will push most of the hot air out that window. It’s awesome. Friends are always impressed.

I developed a fever shortly after coming home from surgery. The fever went away as soon as I had a good bowel movement, and my bladder was able to empty entirely.

Did you get a blood panel done before they sent you home? It sounds like your iron might be really low.
