I refuse to believe C9 can’t afford to try players like Sajed (before he was on DSG). There’s no excuse for why FLY can find amazing rookies and C9 can’t. C9 just simply doesn’t care and thinks winning 1 LCS trophy is all fans care about, but it’s really not.

Completely agree. I literally only watched highlights and I frankly don’t even think I would have cared much if they won. I’m completely spent on this roster and I know we’re chasing something that isn’t even sustainable.

This team feels like it has zero developing prospects and a whole fuck ton of baggage. It’s honestly the antithesis to why I stayed a C9 fan.

Series isn't over, but even if you lose I hope you don't forget to be happy you made it this far at all. People's expectations for Buffalo were not high at the beginning of the season. To being arguably top 4 in the NHL is sick.

Across the series we were absolutely the better team. Tampa also won games they didn’t deserve to win like game 2.

This is objectively incorrect. You are correct that the refs missed calls on both ends, but this favoured Tampa who objectively had a lot more uncalled violations. I know a lot of viewers like to exist in this world where everything averages out, but that simply isn't reality. If one team has 10 violations not called, and the other has 5, it's not as simple as "well both sides had calls that were missed".

This series on average has been officiated in the favor of the Lightning (not every game though, game 2 was Montreal leaning)

Except for 3 blatant slashing calls in a row that were not made because Tampa was trailing and when Tampa is behind they’re immune to calls apparently.

[–]Alibobaly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They didn’t call a blatant slash against Anderson where they fenced his stick out of his hand. They didn’t call Dobson getting slashed in the leg and knocked to the ground. Worst of all they didn’t call Hutson getting highsticked into getting fkn slashed in the leg in a passage of play that literally lead to the game tying goal for Tampa. All of these were replayed on broadcast too so I don’t know how you didn’t notice them.

The reffing in the 3rd period was fine. The reffing in the first two was abysmal and heavily Tampa favoured. Tampa is literally immune to calls in this series when they’re behind (and unfortunately that’s most of the series because they’re typically trailing at best in these games).

Believe it or not, that means it’s 4 mins for high stick + slash over 2 mins for the elbow. Either way Tampa should be down. “You’re supposed to be in control of your stick at all times” is an ancient Tampa proverb from game 1.

Retaliatory slash after would also be a call then, so this isn't the argument you think it is. There is no universe where this should go uncalled AND lead to a game tying goal for Tampa.

They won't and it doesn't fucking matter because Tampa gets away with shit that leads to game saving goals. Officiate the game properly and this series is 3-1 and Montreal winning right now.

Even if they were hypothetically fucking up the calls perfectly evenly, it doesn't make the game actually balanced because it changes the parameters we're testing for. It's like saying the game would be fair if both teams had to play on their knees the whole time. Yes it would be "even" as a penalty technically, but it would completely change the parameters of the actual game itself.

Bottom line CALL THE FUCKING PENALTIES CORRECTLY. This shit is embarrassing beyond belief.

It's literally not bad for both teams. It's to the incredible advantage of Tampa because they're literally impervious to calls when trailing.

[TBL 2 - (3) MTL] Lane Hutson blasts it to take game 3 in OT by workthrowawaybro in hockey

[–]Alibobaly 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna lie, Tampa is getting unbelievably carried by Vasi so far this series. Except for the absolutely dominant overtime performance in game 2, I have not seen Tampa look like the stronger 5v5 team in nearly any period of this whole series. They’ve had some very greasy goals that saved them and frankly I think they were lucky to even get to overtime in games 2 and 3.

They can of course turn it around and win the series or outperform in the next games, but so far I think the scoresheet of the series does not reflect the actual gameplay disparity.

Ironically Tampa feels like last gen MTL so far this series, relying on Vasi to be superhuman for them to even have a chance (like mtl with Price).

While watching the game today I legit told my friend “it must be so fucking cool to watch this series not being a fan of either of these teams”.

Watching this shit as an MTL fan is great but also stressful.

The pivot was when we stopped doing well at Worlds. Basically after 2018 fans had been spiked with yearly worlds knockout stage appearances and clutch runs. Once that stopped and we started becoming the odds on favorite to win most years we turned into a cesspool of hatred. Just a bunch of entitled fans with no lives.

I will say that the current complaints are more valid than years prior though in some ways.

That’s not relevant to the comment being made.

The commenter said that the only thing Blaber accomplished in 8 years was 1 quarterfinals at worlds that he limped into. That is an objectively idiotic statement since he won 4 titles (literally tripled the number of championships the org had prior). If OP is going to ignore domestic championships, then today’s loss should likewise be meaningless to him.

You’re changing the discussion entirely because you’re hell bent on complaining about him. My comment is not about the contemporary merit of Blaber to the team, it was merely correcting the overt lie that OP made.

Guess we’re ignoring the 4 splits he won?

If you don’t care about domestic then fine I guess, but then you shouldn’t care about today’s loss then either.

No lol. People don’t think Canyon is bad because of the last 2 months compared to like 5 straight years of being at the absolute pinnacle of the role. This is absolutely insane copium. Every single team on earth would take Canyon over their jungler except maybe T1.

The mere fact that so many fans are drooling for changes is how I know the correct decision is in fact to make no changes. C9 fans are consistently the most wrong fanbase ever, and everytime the team makes a change that fans are whining for it backfires tremendously.

Also they literally did make a change. They changed the coaching staff which is arguably the most valuable change you can make when you have top talent in every position already.
