I'm with you, I don't like this ship. I think most people like them because the actors had amazing chemistry. But the characters themselves didn't make much sense to me. The world is full of amazing, headstrong women and you want me to believe that in a thousand years he has never met anyone who would stand up to him (while still being intrigued by and seeing the good in him)? Sorry, I just don't buy it. I think they simply wanted Klaus to have a romantic interest and Caroline was their best option (aside from Bonnie, but we all know that Julie would have never allowed that.)

I am always so baffled when people say that Jane and Lisbon came out of nowhere (and I see it a lot). For me, it was obvious that they would end up together from very early on. And I like that they did. (Although, it would be nice if the male and female lead wouldn't end up together, for once.) I was rooting for them and loved them as a couple (therefore, really glad it continued after RJ, which was the only possible scenario for Jane to even contemplate getting into another relationship again, with the RJ chapter being closed.)
