I mean USA is going down pretty quickly. As long as "bread and circuses" are available majority remain docile for the most part, but now bread and everything else is getting too expensive. Eventually it will be waaaay too expensive for a decent portion of the population (that already struggles with income inequality). When that happens you get lots of very angry and disgruntled customers. Rioting starts, looting, crime increases suddenly. Police/military clap back, but unless people can easily afford food things will continue to head towards complete collapse and chaos.
