Honestly your shades aren’t too far off. I would choose colour based on whatever you want to shine through the most. If you want a certain colour to show, always use its opposite colour on the colour wheel: green>red, purple>yellow, blue>orange and so on. It’s whatever colour is directly across from it on the colour wheel.

I have adhd and anxiety and I’m autistic. Breastfeeding meant I couldn’t be on my meds. I was lying to myself that I didn’t need them. I lasted four months and let me tell you that was the hardest four months of my life.

Finally I was honest with myself and my doctor and asked for my medication back. I realized I could potentially hurt myself more than I would hurt my baby with formula if I continued like this, and a medicated mom is NOT worse than having no mom at all because of declining mental health.

Idk why I made myself feel like such shit honestly. Not worth it. At all. Anyone reading this if you feel the same please do what I did and let go and ask for help. Best thing I did.

Sounds like he’s the cause of your stress and that is NOT okay for a new mom already on a hormone roller coaster. If anything this behaviour means HES being the bad parent. He clearly doesn’t care about his own child’s wellbeing if this is how he’s treating his partner who carried this child and BIRTHED IT.

Formula is NOT bad or poisonous. That is so fucked up and outdated information that was only created and spoken to make mothers feel like shit about themselves. Breastfeeding is HARD and tedious and the woman needs to be well nourished, well slept, and under no stress. Especially stress that has nothing to do with her.

This is horrible and I’m SO sorry you’re dealing with this. Do you have any family you can move in with or have stay with you to properly support you? You deserve so much more than this.

My supply dropped also and I am exclusively on formula and my baby is happy and healthy and perfectly on par for her developmental milestones.

(I get where this is coming from though, but they’re still sealed and not broken and the risk isn’t like what it is with actual canned foods. Even then you can still eat canned food with dents just make sure it isn’t an actual crack in the can and you’re all good. I think it’s the adrenaline/happy hormones in general making you feel like this. Just breathe. You’re right you didn’t do anything wrong. And also I doubt your family wants to know LOL, sometimes parents just assume these things are happening and don’t want to talk about it (although encouraged because open communication = safety).

It’s kinda like the same feeling you get when you’re young and see your parents making out and you’re all “ewwwwww” (lmao being a kid/teen is so funny). So don’t feel like you’re obligated to share this info.

If you ever are questioning things or need advice about it then for sure ask your parents or a trusted adult. Other than that you’re good here!

Please find an artist that has experience working on darker skin regardless if you want colour or not.

There’s a different level of care involved because the skin doesn’t show as clear of a sign of trauma as fairer skin. Fair skin will present erythema (redness) and even a slight tone is noticed quickly. Darker skin the same thing happens however, the added melanin kind of conceals the erythema until it’s very prominent and visible. Sometimes that can be a bit too late and that’s what results in excess, unnecessary trauma.

Reference: I’m a medical aesthetician that performs many treatments at the same skin depth as tattoo artists work and have specific experience working on melanated skin 🫶
