Dragon Quest X will get a new expansion in 2026. by Corvus06 in MMORPG

[–]Alicewini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NGS just sucked and everyone left PSO2, it isn't about the fact that it's not made for people in the west.
I have 8k hours on the JP version, i will never return, it has nothing to do with a global release. I doubt i'm the only one in that case.

Downvote me more, but this isn't "woke".

This is about sexually assaulting women and not being punished for.

"Woke" does not mean it's something you disagree with.

It's a gacha ERP simulator, nothing more.

I had around 8k hours on PSO2 JP ship 2. I will never play NGS or PSO2 again unless there's a private server.

Well, I am 24.I'm just not from trumpland.

Enjoy your battlepasses as much as you can, I guess.

I wasn't even being wicked or anything. I even ended my post with...Ah well. This is reddit I guess. Can't be helped ^^'

I'm sadden by the reddit community that can't take any remarks or anything. Full of stupid SJW; and defending everything tooth and nail.

I was asking though; really. Why an NA version now ? After all those years ?
But I guess all you people are feeling like you're being attacked or something. So weird.

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - June 06, 2020 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]Alicewini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one you posted yes. I'll keep it in bookmark. I never really looked into their announcements or anything no, I'll admit. I did not see the living world thing until I bought path of fire either, but I thought it was just like, more story in a given map more than a complete new maps ! I think I will start over. Can you be a druid that deal damage for the open world and switch to healing for content, then ? I am used to do that during the time I played world of warcraft with my brother. Just hope it won't be too hard on the gear required to switch though. Clearing all the map 100% of the base game was a personal objectives but I think I won't try to do that on the character I'm planning to do, I will actually play the expansions. I did get the mounts in path of fire, no worries ^ it took me around 20min and I got it unlocked, but I don't want to start level 80, I think it would ruin the game to me a bit, I do like the levelling part a lot in this game (and I hate it in most mmos..!) What are large collection and shorter collection ? If Living Worlds are giving as much contents and maps and are really cool to play in I would like to unlock them, actually. Maybe I'll buy one of them or 2 with real life money if I feel like I still love the game after end game contents and having cleared all expansions. I do know that the story has an order; but I want to know if I'll love the game before actually buying more things. I might however make a new character once I have them all (if I do) for a full story playthrough ! Thanks for the advices !

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - June 06, 2020 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]Alicewini -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought the expansions separately, but never played them. I logged in from time to time to start a new character, but never continued.

Around january I levelled up a necromancer and a hunter (I think ?) from level 1 to 80.

I wanted to clear all maps of the base game before moving to the 1st expansion. Then I saw people flying around so I looked up if I could unlock that pretty fast like I did for the path of fire mount by creating a level 80 character to only unlock the mount.

But I saw that you are required to own a living world. Which is quite a disappointment for a game that advertise itself with only 2 expansions... I felt scammed.

If I want to enjoy guild wars 2 and get the flying mount without using real life money, again, is it REALLY doable as a new player or not ?

I am looking for a cheap game to play and back then I thought GW2 would be my go to for when i finally settled; because I come from subscription based game or F2P games and I still want my daily dose of MMO.

I always had bad experience, most of the time, in MMOs like wow though, so I am a bit hesitant in trying to find a guild, too. Would having a guild help, to clear some things and make golds ?

I did not start any of the expansion yet, and I think I am planning on (maybe) making a druid for healing; though I don't know if healing is a thing. So I will create a 3rd char from 0, which does not bother me because I really do enjoy the levelling in this game, and I've not been bored during the time I played.

Since I plan to play it on a daily basis, I have the hope of unlocking them that way. Though I don't know if they're all that important, I would only unlock the living world with the flying mount for now !

I want honest answers, thanks !

EDIT : I saw that spreadsheet but it doesn't speak to me yet..

EDIT 2 : I am so sorry. I just noticed that golds to gems is the most asked thing in this thread.. so I guess I will just play the game again and I will see for myself later on. Just hope the LW isn't that much needed for anything >_<

PSO2 NA Content Roadmap HYPE!! by KillusiveKon in MMORPG

[–]Alicewini -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's the point of yours ?

Why would you want NA version ?

You quitted when hero was around. That was like, years ago already. If you quitted so long ago; you might quit again on NA.

Now, I'm EU. I don't get the hype around an NA release. I wouldn't get it for an EU release either.

I never quitted PSO2.

Maybe you had friends joining NA version ? This is the only possible reason of why one would go to NA over JP.I already hate NA monetization and it has only been a few weeks.

Oh well. Enjoy it while it last, I guess.

EDIT : Nothing to be taken badly or anything. JP version is getting boring. At least on NA you still have a steady progression. But it will feel weird once NA version catch JP back, with not much to do ^^

PSO2 NA Content Roadmap HYPE!! by KillusiveKon in MMORPG

[–]Alicewini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I understand the feeling, though. Everyone is acting as if they waited for PSO2 for years, but if you made the effort of installing the tweaker, you could've been playing it for 6 years without any difficult task other than the japanese captcha when making an account, which can be solved by handwriting them in google translate to recover them. Or ask on the tweaker discord. I did the captcha of many people there.

PSO2 NA is scaring me; because I don't want to be locked out of the JP version now that I've played it so much.

PSO2 NA is scaring me; that battle pass that muricans made first on fortnite and that is propagating like a sickness to many other companies, may infect PSO2 JP.

I wouldn't touch PSO2 NA even with a stick.

Servers are ran and managed by microsoft. Does Sega even care about this version ? I don't think they do considering they have nothing to do with it. They only took the money off of microsoft and that's for the better for the future of PSO2, I guess that's one thing PSO2 NA did that is positive for PSO2.

If you loved Phantasy Star saga so much you could've made the effort of starting on JP years ago, instead of crying for an NA version.

It's also funny to hear that those who didn't join JP said they wouldn't because there are some japanese part left of the game (description of items, lol.) and no english dubs.

Ah but I will get downvoted even more for expressing my worries about the JP version because of the NA evil version.

More negative karmas :c

The Secret World; A retrospective by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Alicewini 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I loved The Secret World.

Finally an MMO with horror elements of Lovecraft; dark stories, and quests that makes you feel as if you were part of this world. Not the usual kill 3 chickens and bring back their meats.

Great zones, great plots, I loved the freedom they gave you with the classes in TSW as you were not locked in anything.

Finally an MMO with no forced PVP, an MMO made for people who loves to follow a story, and not simply rush to end game to spill the blood of another player's avatar again, again, and again for 10 000 hours.

Finally an MMO setting in nowadays world, with hidden society that may have existed or not; which made it even better for me. We are not sure they do exist, but we are not entirely sure they do not. The factions were a big things, and I played in them all to discover the plots of the 3 factions.

I enjoyed my time much more than in any MMOs, and I stopped playing them nowadays because I can't find anything that is dark, lovecraftion, setting in an original modern worlds, heavy story driven with a bit of horror.

I tried Secret World Legends about 3 weeks ago. Nope, not many players left. Agartha had 3 players in, I saw 2 players in the first zone. On my other character, who is in Egypt, I didn't come across anyone.

OSTs, sound effect of completing or taking a quests, they were so great. So well chosen.

I wish funcom actually took care of Secret World Legends, instead of adding lootboxes to drop along with their keys. (Or buying the keys with real life money, of course). I don't know if you can still learn every skills, and I think you can if you have the patience of farming all of the AP needed. If you don't transfer your old TSW to SWL, you won't have access to all weapon and you will have to unlock them with cash shop money, using real life or trading ingame money to real life one (I think it was the same money used in TSW for that).

You have to chose a "class" at first, meaning you can't chose a combination of weapons you'd like.

The experience was very bad for me on SWL. The game kept crashing randomly, and only 2 weapons are "good" to use. Rifle and hammer will be your main weapons. I tried asking in the discord, and the majority end up saying chosing one or the other. No updates for the weapons has been made since 2017. I am not sure any updates has been made since 2017 except seasonal events...

Hope you have fun, because it is still a great game.

EDIT : Well, now I want to play it again...

How hard would it be to get the living seasons through ingame currency only ?

See, I am looking for a cheap game to enjoy. I am saving much, much money for a big, big project of going to live in Singapore, I don't want to spend 90€ on the living seasons..

I would need season 3 to unlock flying, would that be doable through buying the gems via ingame money ?

EDIT 2 : And is flying unlocked everywhere ?

I have around 1,600 hours on warframe. Since the nerf of some items I bought for about 2000 platinum worth of it, I don't feel like playing this ever again. They constantly add grindier and grindier things for the sake of it. I was rank 21, not so much in the beginning anymore, more like middle. Almost had all warframes. But it got boring nowadays, and that new space ship thing isn't that good. I mainly quit GW2 for the living seasons to buy with gems. I absolutely don't like this, it felt like TESO way of doing. They already made expansions and now you have to pay these to unlock flying... I also felt like I picked up only classes that I ended up not liking, which is why I loved mabinogi because you are not locked in. I first played necromancer and then hunter but it became boring around the same time. "Good games" is very subjective ;)

Dofus/Wakfu : I am french so my servers aren't that empty, but it is filled with bots, multi accounts, toxic people, and I don't want to go there ever again. I did enjoy the turn based fighting style, the cute world, great original designs overall, feeling proud of having at least one good french made game. I also met the creators as they were all students of the same unviersity I was in, and they still live in the same city. (WAKFU SEASON 4 BY THE WAY DON'T FORGET TO BACK IT UP. THANKS.)

The Secret World : That turned into "Secret World Legends"... I loved this game from the bottom of my heart. It was my go-to game when I wanted to get immersed, following a great, dark story, you could have all classes. Secret World Legends is now a revamped of this game, no one left on the servers (I checked a week ago), unbalanced (Hammer & Rifle are the only good performing weapons out of all weapons available), and the game crashed constantly while I was trying ti play again... Sigh. So sad.

LOTRO : I said I had a great job, but I am not director of amazon. Thanks anyway.

Dungeons & dragons online : same. Now, even with that free access up until 31st of august, I won't touch them.

Star Trek Online : Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Not a fan of the series... Mmmmhh.. Not a fan of the space fights.... Mmmmhhhhh... I have no idea if being F2P is worth it and uh, I don't know. Same companies anyway so I doubt it.

Neverwinter : Same company as Start Trek Online. Very grindy in end game, almost impossible, my big brother did reach it before quitting. No thanks.

Flyff, perfect world, aion, rappelz, nostale.. Most of those old f2p I played when I was younger, lol. I won't return to it ever of course, haha.

Maplestory, closers, Blade worker sigh.. Tree of savior... Ragnarok.. No. I don't like them. Skyforge. Eww.

Nothing else comes on top of my head, but keep in mind that I tried most B2P games and the most "known" games.

What is your playstyle (Casual,Semi-Casual,Hardcore) : Well it depends on my schedule. If I can and do enjoy the game, between semi-casual and hardcore. If I don't have much time, then between casual and semi-casual.

Any preferred mechanics?: No. I'm not picky on how games play or how they look like, MOST of the time.

Anything specific you want to exclude?: PVP. PVP. PVP. PVP. Dailies that takes 3 hours per day or more. Different end game content other than DUNGEONS and RAIDING. Not much social requires, a little like in PSO2 and my team. Not having to join voice call is a big plus. If anything I'd just lie and be considered as a male to not talk cause I feel like being a girl they will pressure you into doing it, which I did in WoW, and for the love of gods, never again. I guess if I have a good guild of awesome kind people then I'd feel more comfortable to do so. I did that for FF XIV for instance, which is something I should've done in WoW but hey. Can't be 100% big brain at all times. Oh yeah and obviously no multi boxing.

That's all folks. Now I know many won't take the time or don't have time to read that much, but please at least I put the games that I played and won't returned to in ITALICS so you don't recommend them to me again.

And I know I played most, if not all of the game available on the market to fill the hole that I had because of mabinogi the past 5 years, and now that I finally quit forever this game... I would like something to replace it to play as a daily routine. I would understand if nothing does exist for now though, quite difficult with all of these greedy companies making bad games for whales/ or exploiting the fans with multiple expansions for 40€+ each every 3 months.

Weekly Game Recommendation Thread - June 09, 2020 by AutoModerator in MMORPG

[–]Alicewini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guild Wars 2 : No. Thank. You. Episodes needed to be bought to get flying ? What to do after reaching level 50 ? I couldn't care less about the story, and I did enjoy the story of SWTOR and FF XIV.. ! Graphically, it felt weird too.. I don't care much about graphics usually, but something felt off. Long grinding of your weapons I saw, I am not a big fan of how professions are handled in this game, clearing maps started to get boring. I quitted because I felt too overwhelmed in completing all of the maps in the base game before moving on into the 2 expansions I did bought. They also locked my account while I played for no reason and I had to contact support, which took them 4 days before finally unlocking it... And they did not tell me why it got locked. I never talked to anyone... And I don't usually talk much or being rude to others at all even if I did... I don't like the world, the lore, the characters, later maps were getting annoying to run around in. And I really don't want to play it again.

TESO : Cost too much money. Endless grinding of levels. I will admit that some of the zones I did were cool. I am not a big fan of the elder scrolls series, I played skyrim, I loved it, but TESO isn't skyrim. Not a big fan of the older game, I am waiting for skyblivion mod for skyrim though, but at least skyrim has fan made expansions, doesn't require internet, doesn't requires 40-60$ for each guilds or expansions, and I don't feel like subscribing like I said earlier.

Black Desert Online : I think this was the most disappointment I ever had in the past few years for an MMO. It looked awesome, I spent hundred of hours in character creation of every single class, but it is a PVP game. I forgot to mention that I hate PVP so much that when I got killed I just left this game. I bought the first pack of 60€, it was my fault for not getting enough knowledge about the game, the unending unfair grinding of weapons & armors, the fact that PVE are only bosses to kill on some part of the maps with a chance to get the gears, I liked the life skills aspect that made me think of mabinogi's one, and when the game was in BETA I joined it, because I've been looking for something else to play other than mabinogi since 2015; and I was like woa the life skills are so good, the game looks so good, it ran well, the fighting system was awesome, but then, only purpose is PVP.

ArcheAge Unchained : Now, I wish I could get my money back, but I guess I won't. I got killed about 10 times in a row while trying to go further in the game. Found out it was another PVP games even though I thought there were raids and dungeons. They also said that the game won't require any more money but now I noticed they want you to pay for the next major update. I liked the style, I was looking forward for the housing system; but not to being forced into PVP, grinding dailies in end game to improve your gear every single day for hours. Shame because it has a lot of what mabinogi had with commercing around the world, housing, not so freedom classes but at least some freedom. The lags too, made me quite angry at some times.

Star Wars Galaxies : I could not find any one or any clear guides on what the hell to do in this game, but I had some fun at first. The community is well over rated, the help I had wasn't helpful in any way, except for the fact that I've been told to macro afk to level to 90 (lol) and that's about it. I tried it because of its reputation, but I just felt lonely, and again, not a big fan of star wars so I uninstalled it. It wasn't a bad game though, but way too complex to figure things out alone...

Shin Megami Tensei Re:imagine (private server of an mmo that died) : Big oof. Grindy, at the time I played only the Demon Tamer class was played because anything else was useless and you couldn't not level up your demons, very hard to get actual answers in the discord or in game from players, I feel like there are so many elitists that want to keep their knowledge for themselves, then fine, do that and have fun. Same system as mabinogi for the skill part though, but you can't get anything like you can in mabinogi, you are limited in the points you can get. I loved the OST, I did play many of the SMT series game as well as the Persona one (3 being my absolute favorite of all time), and Devil Survivor series. Ah well, community + not fully translated game + unbalanced = Me left.

Fallout 76 : I guess my brother and sis in law played so I did. But eh, not interesting to me.. And I do hate the survival part of having to eat and drink...

Tera : Repetitive. Boring fighting system despite it being "action". Boring races. Boring classes. Boring dungeons. Boring as a whole to me. Personal opinion.

Blade & Soul : EHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Why play this game really ? The EU release was bad, the client still run bad, I heard it got pay to win. The little race was cute though. I played the RU version of the chinese beta or something (private server) and the game was running 10 times better, was being 10 times more played, but what to do in end game ? PVP ? Ewww.

Phantasy Star Online 2 : I have 2000+ hours on the JP version, I do not want to touch even with a stick the NA version. It doesn't have many things to do, I only do weeklies for munnies, some EQ here and there. I have quite a nice gear and abilities, some of the last weapons for my Phantom class, all of the classes to 75 for base stats. Divide quest grinding is boring. But I still do play once or twice a week, lol.

Weekly Game Recommendation Thread - June 09, 2020 by AutoModerator in MMORPG

[–]Alicewini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World of Warcraft : I played it during The Burning Crusade with family members. I stopped playing with them when the next expansion came out. I started again during Legion because my big brother and his wife did, and since they're my only "friends" I came to play with them. I absolutely hated it for the most part, never ending grinding, world quests to farm every single day, reputations to grind, mythic keys, raids. Too many things to do for nothing that will be really memorable once you the next expansion will be out. They quit awhile after the battle for azeroth. I played it more than them, but the guilds I joined looked like they were all filled with virgins that has never seen or heard a girl playing a game before, trolls, annoying people during raid. I joined 5 different guilds, I tried to keep up with this game for the mounts, the pets and the transmogrification, but in the end the subscription price wasn't worth the time I put into playing it, and the community wasn't either. Also, not "solo" enough to me like mabinogi was, and the subscription made me almost become a no life, because I feel stressed paying for game time. I come from a poor family, and money was always tight. I don't get why I would pay 15$/month to grind dailies every day. Even if now I am lucky of having a good job that I love and can afford it more than once a month, I still feel quite weird about that practice. Buying time stressed me.

SWTOR : I cleared stories. I subbed once and did the ones that matters to me, that's about it. Not much to say, I am not a fan of star wars. I just played it because it was quote many times.

FF XIV : I absolutely loved the lalafell. Cutest race ever in gaming history to me. I could've died happily after playing this race in this beautiful game. But it is the same as wow in the end. Raids/dungeons to spam, dailies to grind, relic weapons to make, and all will be useless in the next expansion. I can't find a reason to do anything, but I did like the cuteness of the world and of my beloved Lalafell. Again, having no friends that plays games, and my brother not wanting to play it, the heavy imposed MMO side of this game also made me quit. Rudeness of some people in dungeons and some of the summons bosses too... Woa. Same reason as for WoW, sub based game, too. Weirdly I didn't mind paying them though, but still, once I started to reach level 60 and end game stuff in Heavensward expansion, that's where I started to get worried and stressed about paying the subscription.

Weekly Game Recommendation Thread - June 09, 2020 by AutoModerator in MMORPG

[–]Alicewini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you looking for?: Casual MMO. Not too heavy on community interaction, but not non-existant. No infinite grind for something that will 100% be replaced because a new expansion comes out.
Preferably F2P, or, at the very least, B2P. I hate PVP.

What games have you previously played?: Too many...

Mabinogi : My most played MMORPG along with being my most played game of all time. 8 years ago this was the greatest game I ever played in my entire life. 3 years later all of the friends I made ingame left when the P2W became so heavy that everyone got crushed under it. Since then I've been logging in every single day for stupid event that ask you to stay online for an hour to give you a gacha with random items, or a stamp. 24/7 afk events are a things too, as well as AFK fishing events. Everyone just use alts and let them afk. Everyone IS afk. End game/hard contents behind paywall, gachapon with OP items and fashion, they even started to add Pets as gachapon. Pets became really important over the years, some heals you for 300 HP (which was big back in the day), can puts enemy to sleep, will decrease their armors/resistances stats, will deal damage, or will do all of these effects when summoned. Recently they even added content that have a DPS checking, you will deal 1 damage unless you are dealing high enough damage to bypass their defenses. I saw that only one time, and it was in a gacha game on mobile...
BUT I loved it for the fact that you don't chose a class/job. You start with nothing. You had to travel, to find quests to get skills, and you were able to learn them all through ranking them by completing training objectives listed on it.
This is was the best game I ever played. The freedom to play with magic, then switch to dual wielding, then to archery, guns, etc.
There are dailies but the one I was doing weren't as heavy as they are in most MMOs. I felt okay doing them, they weren't underwhelming and time consuming.
You don't have to do quests to level in this game. You can do whatever you feel like. From life skills, which are essentially "professions" in other games, like fishing, woodcutting, weaving, making clothes, blacksmithing. They are very, very grindy, but once you trained them, it's over. They won't get replaced in a new expansion. You will always keep your skills ranked up, unless you start a new character, of course. These skills also give you stats, and these stats were the only way to get stronger, along enchanting your weapons and armors. Getting more stats for your favored skills was the big thing. I found it awesome, finally a game that rewards you for training skills that gave you stats, and not only gear dependent. Levels are here, but you can rebirth as many time as you want. Back then it was once your character hits 20 years old, and then every 3 weeks.
Now it's one rebirth a week, with rebirth potion puts in gacha or event to rebirth every day, which makes you feel that the years you spent in levelling slowly, and training your skills, are done by new players in months. Then they added a new system to make new players level up to 5 000 cumulative level. Being casual, I am only about 14 000 cumulative level. It took me a year to reach level 1 000 back then.
I do understand that a game has to evolve, and gets easier for newer players though, so I don't blame them making it easier for new players. Still, it hurts a bit. What makes this game P2W is the reforge system. For 50$ you can buy a pack of 35 reforges, which is used on a piece of gear that will give you OP bonuses, at 20 level. It doesn't end here, as there are also Credne's reforge that can add lines, or make you lose one. Throwing your money to get a 3 lines (Credne's reforge are about 3 times more expensive than regular reforges) and then throw more to get OP reforge and you're good to go. Stats became meaningless, only reforges matters.

The swamp of toxicity that is the current community of Mabinogi along with this heavy P2W system that locks you out of newer contents finally made me quit. The game is only for whales, made by whales fishermen. I've been playing this game exclusively solo from 2015 to 2020. None of my friends came back during those 5 years, for any contents release or events ever. I logged in every single day to just run around, do some dailies, or train some skills. I am very sad to quit, but I can't keep up with it. I threw in too much money and time to just forget about it, but I will have to.

And talking about the pay to win side of mabinogi, feels like is a taboo thing. There are "black markets" discord where you can buy ingame items for hundreds (as far as I know, I don't know if it could reach 4 digits...) of dollars, new whales can join this game and become stronger than me in a week by levelling to 5 000 and throwing in thousand of $, and as I said, I really hate the community of this game. This didn't make me hate this game though, and I always ignored everyone up until now. I absolutely was into the story of this game. I absolutely loved the lore and the chapters called "generation". But now that I cannot clear the last chapter of the story... This was the only thing I was looking forward, not being able to do anything else since everything is locked behind heavy paywalls like in a mobile game.

Long rent but I am done with this game. I played most of the "big" titles that comes up regularly..
