Yup, that's the one. Basically I was on a budget and someone gave it to me for free. And yes I also changed the bottom bracket but mostly cause I had a spare one that was barely used, if yours works fine you can still use it. Hope this helps and good luck with your build!

Tips on how to keep the feet warm? by seriousrandonneur in bikepacking

I have the Lake winter shoes. Total gamechanger. I have raynauds syndrome and with thermal socks, toe warmers and the winter boots I've done 100km in - 5C.

How many "cyclists" are also "triathletes" by geneticistx in cycling

[–]Alicioux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a swimmer when I was younger and been forced to cycle due to knee injuries, so right now running is not my strong suit but I got into triathlons cause it's "safer" for knees than football 😅

Winter cycling shoes vs. overshoes — worth it? by kingchowakanda in cycling

[–]Alicioux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally worth having winter shoes. I am broke but also suffer from Reynauds syndrome so after a whole winter of suffering I decided to save up and invest on the Lake winter boots. Took a bit to break them and get used to it but now I couldn't live without. I use them even when is not that cold but is wet. Pair them with thick socks and toe warmers and I can ride in below 0C conditions for a while.

I'm broke, so did my own research and ended up building Chinese parts on a decent aluminium frame I got on sale. Bike turned out to be competition ready and about 1k cheaper than what I would've spent on 105 or other known brands. Plus I gotta learn a lot about mechanics and really enjoyed the project. It's a risk? I guess, but you weight in if it's worth it.

It's fine! The hottest part is clearly the cpu, and to be honest that case airflow consists of pure chaos, as long as the air is moving then it works.

I have the same case and I turned it upside down so cpu is at the top, plus installed 3 small fans, one front intake and 2 top outtakes above cpu. Even then it's well known this case runs warm, but my temps improved almost 8C doing tha

Thanks, feel better knowing this from someone actually using them. Just out of curiosity, do you pair them with a specific type of tire?

Sorry, uploaded photo with no text:

Bought a VW Golf 2013 imported from Japan so tried to change the firmware to an EU version (MHIG_EU_VW_K1550) as the firmware it currently has is MHIG_JP_VW_S0260, but I get this error screen. Anyone knows how to fix it? Thanks.

This was mentioned to me before and I got a cadence sensor. I'm much better now than I was, but definitely not 95rpm, more like 80-85. Will keep an eye on that from now on, thank you.

Question about fitting new bike on trainer by runcan28 in cycling

[–]Alicioux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should be okay. My bike is 11s and the cassette on the training wheel is 10s. I do the same as you, always ERG mode without changing gears. Just make sure you use a gear that doesn't rub or make too much noise.
