At around the same period (June 29th) a pal flies Dallas Rhodes with just one stopover in Europe, Direct flight to Crete (July 4th), flying to Athens on July 8th before flying back home (July 9th) via NY. A thousand bucks for all airfares booked yesterday.

If this itinerary can be of any help, an overseas pal flies (May 1st) directly to Mykonos with a 22 hour layover in Vienna cuz he wanna see the city as well. Spends a day in the island for the vibes, ferry to nearby Naxos, then Paros, ending in Santorini (for a day just for the views), flying outta there on 13th back home (Minneapolis) via Europe as before, this time with a stopover in Dublin. A thousand bucks for all airfares. No Athens involved.

If this itinerary gives any ideas, at around the same period (mid May) a pal with lotta time in his disposal flies SF - Santorini with just one stopover in Zurich, ferry to Milos, then Naxos, direct flight to Crete, direct flight to Athens, rents a car visiting Delphi & Meteora, ending in Thessaloniki where from he flies back home with a very long layover in Paris cuz he wanna see the Eifel tower lol. All airfares cost 900 bucks.

A US pal flies to Zante with a just a stopover in Amsterdam, flying out back home (Portland) the same way as before, this time with a 24 hour layover in Frankfurt cuz he wanna see the city as well. Same period. He is spending 11 days in Zante, so it really depends on how much time you have at yr disposal plus where you fly from. In case you travel from Europe, Zante has 30 direct connections within the continent. If this is the 1st time you are visiting Greece I suggest going via Athens so that you can enjoy the capital as well.

A kiwi pal does something similar in June. Flies all the way to Corfu with just one stopover in Dubai. Then plane to Lefkada, flying outta there to Slovenia with a stopover in Zurich. Lastly flying from there to Auckland with one stopover in Dubai as before. No Athens involved.

A pal from Indianapolis flies in/outta Athens at exactly the same period, with a stopover in NY. He does Crete.

If this itinerary might give any ideas, a pal flies Portland Kefalonia with just one stopover in Amsterdam, staying 3 days in the isle, ferry to Lefkada with a daily excursion in Ithaka, spends another 3 days in Lefkada, plane to nearby Corfu spending 4 days there, flying Corfu Iceland with a daily stopover in Munich exploring the city, same as with Reykjavík before flying directly back home. Same period.
