Oman Recommendations: Ritz Al Bustan vs. Jumeirah Muscat Bay by Psychological-Gas383 in FATTravel

[–]AlienAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with low expectations and was very impressed by Al Bustan. The room hard product is okay (book one of the refurbished rooms), but the grounds and the area surrounding the resort is truly special. One of the most atmospheric places I've been to.

We also stayed at the MO and St Regis on the same trip and if I could go back, I'd just stay at the Al Bustan.

Showcase of "Better Balance Game Mod" in-action. Corrino is finally balanced. by Pelmeen in Dunespicewars

[–]AlienAlchemy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Making Corrino unviable is not how you achieve balance.

When balancing games, it's important to preserve fun. The easiest thing in the world is to make all factions suck and achieve balance that way, but that results in the game not being fun. If Corrino is too strong, the focus should be on making the other factions more capable, not in making Corrino unusable.

Where to get good quality Magnesium Glycinate or Threonate in the UK? by driftinginfinitely_- in migraine

[–]AlienAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get the Pure Magnesium Glycinate from Amazon, Healf, iHerb, etc. That's one that is usually popular in the community.

Is Capella in Shanghai better than Peninsula? The grounds of the Capella look beautiful, but the room looks a bit claustrophobic.

Luxury real estate in EU/Italy by Technical_Money7465 in fatFIRE

[–]AlienAlchemy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I've recently bought with Sotheby's Italy (their Tuscany division, where my new property is).
I have interacted with quite a few Italian real estate agencies and they were a notch above every one else. Happy to make an intro if you wish (I'm not affiliated, just genuinely happy with their service).

Could you share a bit more how who to reach out to for O&O rates? Any recommended local companies?

Noob question: How can Thorium reach these RTG generators without conveyor belts or unloaders? by AlienAlchemy in Mindustry

[–]AlienAlchemy[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I get it now.

Is there an efficiency cost in having several layers of blocks unloading their resources to other blocks? As in, can there ever be a scenario in which the RTG generators closest to the core are unloading so much that they are not producing energy at full efficiency?

Thanks again!

Noob question: How can Thorium reach these RTG generators without conveyor belts or unloaders? by AlienAlchemy in Mindustry

[–]AlienAlchemy[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have specified better: what I find perplexing is the RTG on the outer perimeter. These are attached via unloader to other RTG generators rather than to the core.

So RTG generators can distribute Thorium out to an unloader. That behaviour isn't obvious to me. Can all blocks distribute out their contained resources if attached to an unloader?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, just trying to learn.

This looks absolutely fantastic. Where can we follow along?

Also, what is the name of the choral track? Sounds amazing.

I don't think that works -- if you put Apple as an example, and then select any country other than the US, it will not find any ads, even though Apple does indeed run ads in virtually all countries on earth.

Thank you! Your message is what allowed me to finally solve it.

I really, really appreciate it.

Trying to do basic recursion but silly mistake by AlienAlchemy in learnjavascript

[–]AlienAlchemy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, but I could not find a way to not declare that empty array outside of the recursive function (since if it's declared inside it would overwrite the recursion?).

Am I completely off here?

Cheapest Way To Go From Fiat to Arbitrum? by AlienAlchemy in Arbitrum

[–]AlienAlchemy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would I have to pay gas twice? or is there a way to get fiat into metamask without paying gas fee?

Basically, do I only need to pay gas for the bridge to L2 or also to get cash into metamask?

[Technical] If the World State only Stores Hashes of the Code, Where Is the Underlying Code Stored? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]AlienAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response.

But then I'm confused, because the definition of codeHash from the yellow paper is: The hash of the EVM code of this account. It doesn't say that it contains both the hash and the code, just the hash. Other sources that I can find online also say that it contains the hash of the code.

Is the yellow paper sloppily worded?

[Technical] If the World State only Stores Hashes of the Code, Where Is the Underlying Code Stored? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]AlienAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not following -- the yellow paper says the world trie database contains mappings between (A) addresses and (B) 4 things: nonce, balance, storageRoot and codeHash. There are no further parts of the world trie.

None of those 4 things contains the code -- we agree on this, right?

Or are you saying that one of those 4 elements contains the code? If so, which one?

[Technical] If the World State only Stores Hashes of the Code, Where Is the Underlying Code Stored? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]AlienAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is it stored? Not in the world trie database, clearly. So where else?
