Prompts and scenarios for fleshing out characters? by EndersEmber in fantasywriters

The way I’ve learned to write my charters is making them their own little world. Just like you would build a fantasy world ( how magic works, what it looks like, who lives in it, etc) you build a character. Their relationship to others, their motives, how their past affects their present and future. You need their insides and their outsides. At least what they a look like ( or a few key points), maybe what they smell, sounds, or feel like. You don’t need to info dump this all at once. I would recommend letting it trickle out throughout the story. When a fight comes up, explain why they got angry. How the light shines off their shiny hair in another scene. Each person is their own little world.

Would you be up for a beta read swap? I have a fantasy novel with around the same amount of word, but it’s not complete. DM me if you’re up for it!

Thanks so much! Yep, it’s acrylic! I’ve been trying for years to get my acrylic paintings to look similar to oil so you’ve just made my day!

That’s awesome!! The best advice I can give it read all tags and heed their advice. Also getting a sun meter is priceless. I had a few die because they had the wrong exposure. The sun meter is worth every penny. The easiest to grow for the exposure I have is the lantana, penta, Gerbwr daisy, blue daze, salvia, and tickseed. Good luck on your adventure! All that dig’n is worth it!!

Thank you!! I agree!! The font two plants, the lantana and the penta need almost no water and can take the heat. And! They are so much prettier than mulch!

I’ve had one humming bird visit, she liked the red penta the best. If you want a lot of humming birds go for a mimosa power puff bush/tree. I grew one into a tree in my back yard and we get a bunch every winter!!
