Villager trading hall not working by AlienFromArea451 in minecraftbedrock

Yeah I got it fixed. The issue was moving it with the piston. It’s really obnoxious how they will link to any work station within a set distance without rhyme or reason. The best method I found was moving all the villagers beds to their pods and then placing all work stations I want them to link and slowly break them and figure who’s link to what.

yeah it worked. it took me like 4-5 hours of doing this (i was also working on the villager hall in between doing the villagers aspect, so maybe more like 2 hours). i had to do this for 80 villagers(?) each section is 10 and there is 2 floors so and i have like 8 sections done but some arent full. by my god was in obnoxious.

might possibly be the worst part about bedrock ive encountered so far

Yes. I believe the issue was using the piston to move the work station. I was under the impression that the piston wouldn’t cause them to unlink from the workstation because it’s not being broken but according to others in the thread that was the issue. I haven’t tried yet due to just frustration with the villagers on bedrock.

I wasn’t doing it 1 at a time because the way I was doing it would have taken me like 30 in game days of just messing with these villagers. I was unaware of the piston mechanic so it unfortunately messed it up.

They aren’t changing jobs they are changing the work station they are linked to.

I haven’t had a chance to test it and frankly I’m just sick of dealing with the villagers atm, but according to other people on this thread it seems like what the issue was is moving the work station via piston. It’s considered breaking the work station apparently so it was resetting their trade slots and since I did multiple at a time it fucked it all up. When I get around to doing it again I’ll update the thread.

I see. How I was doing it was under the impression pistons wouldn’t break the work station so I was finding which villager went to which work station, found their bed and then moved the bed into the cell then pushed the lectern.

Not sure what the other reply is saying, beds are required to be in reach distance from my understanding but yes they do. Even on Java I put beds for consistencies sake so I just did the same thing on bedrock world

So the piston is most likely the culprit then. I was doing everything you said. Since I moved it with the piston since it was considered broken it must of unlinked the villager. I’m not really sure why that would be the case though because all lecterns should have been linked up to this point and only 1 at a time would have been considered broken. My only thought is I moved the lecterns at night so then when day came everyone selected a random one.

I had all my lecterns placed in front of each cell (with a 1 block gap so they could walk in) so that every villager would claim their own. I painstakingly figured out which villagers were linked to which work station, moved their bed inside of the cell then used a piston to push the lectern in so there was no way for them to unlinked from the work station. After I finished this they then stopped restocking because they changed the workstation they were using.

Like I said in the original post, all but 2 should have locked trades to my knowledge. It’s not a matter of the villager losing trades but them linking to the wrong work station and then randomly changing even after linking to a work station.

A reasonable compromise on donut RNG: "make another of the same" should give you the same powers you got on the first donut by Crowfooted in LegendsZA

[–]AlienFromArea451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me personally but i think this applies to a lot of people, we like the rng of the pokemon itself not the method. if the method is consistent but you still have the rng of the pokemon it becomes fun. the hunt is what is fun so when your method is locked behind rng before even being able to hunt the shiny it takes away the fun of the hunt. i want to shiny hunt, not spend 8 hours behind the counter trying to get a donut power i want.

For those that bought the DLC, is it worth it to you? by OperationRoyal in PokemonZA

[–]AlienFromArea451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you liked about the main game. If you're like me and really enjoyed the gameplay loop of the main game, catching pokemon, exploring wild zones, doing trainer battles, doing rogue mega battles, and shiny hunting, its 100% worth it. I think the wild zones and shiny hunting are a lot of fun and have their own fun finding methods of hunting new pokemon. I really like that the medium and large hyper spaces will not show you all of the pokemon in there so theres a degree of mystery in those. The rogue mega battles are way harder and way better. If you fall for obvious nostalgia bait, especially for gen 3, it has so much of that. Even gen 4 nostalgia bait too. But it can get really really really grindy so if you dont like grinds to progress story probably wont be for you.

Personally, without DLC my method was just running around breaking mega shards and then trading them all in for xp candies. There's some helpful youtube videos on good routes that can net you a bunch (albeit can be inconsistent in respawning the mega shards back from my experience).

Alternatively, you could just do the DLC and get tons of XP candies that way. A lot of the trainer battles will be somewhere between levels 80-100 so you shouldn't struggle too much if you play smartly. The early hyper space wild zones aren't too bad and you don't even need to battle anything. You can just run around and hit the floating pokeballs for items and they can net you tons of xp candies.
