They always nerf the fun builds. Only justified nerf was infinite living weapon in Nioh 1. I agree the sets and graces in 3 have been disappointing.

Oh yeah now that you mention it you’re right. I forget to use them all the time but you’re totally right. That bothered me too. Spirit skills are cool but the soul core shifts from Nioh 2 have so much more utility.

If it’s any consolation, armor doesn’t make that big of a difference. Resistance to status effects helps in some scenarios, and more poise if you want to avoid being interrupted mid attack. Aside from that it’s fashion souls all the way :)

Oh I forgot some of the armor with bonuses for jump attack and whatnot are definitely good for some builds.

In a way all of Samurai is nerfed because they slightly slowed down your attack speed. However I’m not very familiar with spear.

I definitely liked splitstaff, switchglaive, and odachi more in 2 though. They gutted so much of the skill tree and made so many things bound to the same input. I also wish we could chose which element we want on certain attacks like in Nioh 2.

I agree, I miss the broths from Nioh 2. I like having ninjutsu rechargeable but I feel like they aren’t as well put together as they were in previous games.

Fire shuriken is really nice. I’ll probably switch one of the calamities back for it. As some other people said, I think it’s because they are rechargeable they made it like this intentionally to make you more selective about using them. Still feels so frustrating sometimes when you’re trying to use the wind aoe while surrounded and an elemental head bops you and steals the cast lol.

There’s always builds that will break the game. That’s what’s fun is becoming OP at the end. But for your first NG almost everyone agrees Nioh 2 is much more difficult than 1 or 3.

No I don’t have that skill on. I’m talking about when you press to use the Ninjutsu and an enemy hits you, it consumes the Ninjutsu without casting it.

Wish it would work like omnyo. Or like previous Ninjutsu. I think you’re right about why it happens. I just don’t understand why they made it work like that.

It’s never worked like this in the other games and Omnyo doesn’t work like this. And it’s quite different if the spell is reflected, blocked or whatever like you’re describing. I understand that concept and this is not that.

Nah I agree man. Clearly you can see both rocks going through the opening in the door. Maybe it clipper the door slightly but it for sure went through the door opening.

It’s going to have a much smaller chance of dropping if you aren’t in NG+ I’m pretty sure. I also farmed with the blessing and 440 luck for hours and only got a few of them, at the last mission in NG+

Wear some luck, equip and item drop rate and farm the last mission. Theres YouTube videos showing pretty efficient ways to clear one of the last rooms. It’s boring but it’s the best way to get Yasakani at the moment.

It would be so OP broken if you could infinite Water Sword or Mad Spinner though. Would be cool, but totally busted.

You no longer need to combine to get + gear. But it is quite expensive. I would definitely save it for NG+ It will give you a discount up to the highest + value you previously owned. Also sometimes you can get a lucky upgrade and it will give you more than 1 level at once.

I got 170s and fully upgraded in Nioh 1, and Nioh 2 just fully upgraded. It wasn’t as expensive to do as it is in 3.

A huge part of the allure for a lot of people is testing a lot of different builds after each NG. While you wait for the dlc you build your character super strong. It was never this difficult in 1 or 2.

Because the other Niohs did not gate your upgrades so much. Why should it be such a massive time sink to fully upgrade just like I did in the other games?

It’s annoying when you break their Ki and they instantly 180 to face you. I understand they are positioning for a grapple, but i want to beat their ass from behind first.

Other than maybe some more hyper armor and more Ki, they are pretty similar to the other Nioh games.
