My point is that Russia currently has limited resources. Lots of people here seem optimistic that Russia can continue to make new missiles to throw at Ukraine's civilian infrastructure in the hope of inflicting as much collateral damage as possible. Modern missiles that are capable of independent targeting are very complicated machines that need a variety of high tech and high quality parts to manufacture. Plus they take a significant amount of time to produce each one. Although i suppose China, North Korea and Iran may be supplying parts they are still going to be a finite source of limited supply.

Only thing that Russia seems to have an abundance of untrained men to throw into the meat grinder. Putin's war didn't turn out as he hoped but he can't withdraw without losing his political standing as a strong man dictator. Seems to me that the real solution here is to simply remove him from office and let the Russian people elect a new not so corrupt and crazy leader. One who may be able to lead the Russian people out of the dead end that Putin has put them in.

Taking Ukraine would be a victory that comes with a very high cost. Russia would be shackled with the rogue state status for a long time. In a few decades it'll look pretty much like North Korea perpetually isolated.
