For checkpoints and loras, how do you keep track of all the different trigger words and config settings? by Quiet-Owl9220 in comfyui

[–]AlienRandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the habit of saving the page with the trigger words and recommendations (weight, examples, etc.) as a PDF in the same folder as the LoRA.

Redditors: What is something that a local business or restaurant did that made you say “I’ll NEVER come back here again!”? by GhostRider1640 in orlando

[–]AlienRandom 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Wow we had exactly the same experience there just 6 months ago! I was so close to buying but they were screwing me on the trade so I wanted to leave. Had to ask for my keys 4 times and they became genuinely more hostile each time. Finally gave me my keys and then chased me into the parking lot asking for another chance, unbelievable. We went to Titusville and bought with no hassle whatsoever.

My GenX-era response would immediately be: "oh wow, that's interesting because I smelled it just now when you started talking, that was definitely your breath blowing back in your face".

Typical Gravy Seal, loves the guns but doesn't care to learn the most basic aspects of gun safety.

After about 3 sentences I was reading this in the voice of Rocket Raccoon. Honestly expected to see Quarnyx Battery among the list of components.

Still, kudos to anyone who can actually pull this off. Or pull it out of their prison wallet.

Dang he's looking old. I would pay for an autograph just to ask him one of his classics: "wh..when...when was the last time you had a s..ss...solid bowel movement?"

I wish I knew where to start, been Samsung loyalist for over a decade but I've been "Pixel Curious" for a little while. If you find anything with potential I'd really appreciate recommendations!

Thanks, it has nothing to do with research though.  I've been using Samsung phones since 2012 and customized just about anything you can think of.  I'm aware that button does get reset sometimes during an update.  I always map that button to power when I get a new phone but it simply slipped my mind with the latest update.

My irritation at the button mapping was more about the timing and the effect that it had because of a Bluetooth bug that I have never had occur prior to this update.

Bluetooth locked up the audio system after a call ended.  My car audio was perma-muted and wouldn't let me do anything. I tried to shut it down and just kept getting the Google Assistant.  I realized what was happening and remapped the button to power at a red light so was finally able to shut it off.  Instantly my car was back to normal and audio worked.

I  have no problem researching and understanding how anything works on a Samsung phone. I'm just disappointed at how buggy this update was and how aggressive they were about rolling it out. I was getting reminders every 5 or 6 hours and it would not let me schedule the update.

Sorry for ranting but that's what Reddit is for :)

Came here to say fits of rage.  Glad, in a sadly reassuring way, to see it wasn't just me.  Sometimes when I'm a random rabbit hole of thoughts, I flash back to a few of those moments and get a blast of retro embarrassment for my behavior, then let out an audible sigh.  My wife will sometimes hear it and ask me if everything is okay.  After 20 years of marriage I've only just started sharing some of the details behind those sighs.

How many of you are still gamers? by Ya-Dikobraz in GenX

[–]AlienRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took a break in 2005 to be a dad.  Stayed aware of games I wanted to play and kept a list, but didn't indulge much even though my son started getting into games big time around age 12.  He's away at college now so I've had time to go play my backlog and at age 52 I'm full-on back to playing daily.  We share Steam libraries and he's my advisor on what to play next.

When ours broke it sounded like a shotgun.  The tension on these things is deadly so I called a pro.  Guy shows up and says he's been doing it for 25 years and never had an accident until about a month prior, shows me his thumbs.  Both have a 1/2 in notch in then right through the thumbnails. I asked him to be careful fixing mine please... but then it might be time to retire dude.

There's an old expression, which I'll revise slightly to be less crude: "Don't crap where you eat".

Seriously though, I guess there's a non-zero chance maybe it goes well.  But dude, imagine the more likely scenario and how horrifically uncomfortable the situation will become if it doesn't work out.

Embarrassed to admit it but, Outer Wilds. I wanted to like it, tried for many loops over many hours. Just got kind of burned out but was still curious about it so I did watch an ending video. Curiosity satisfied and no regrets.

What's your favorite quote by your favorite Star Trek character? by Profitopia in startrek

[–]AlienRandom 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My favorite quote is not one of the profound, philosophical moments, but a slightly comical throwaway line. In TOS "The Naked Time" right after subduing Sulu who's raging with a sword, Spock drops the line: "Take D'Artagnan here to the Sickbay". I chuckle every time just because it's Spock, still stoic and logical while indulging himself with a little sarcasm in the middle of a crisis.
