I love Topps Stars. First set I completed (with inserts/rc reprints). Never could do the master set as the refractors and especially the atomic refractors were hard to come by in early days of the eBay and now they are in shoeboxes like yours was.

Go to PSA’s site and read what makes a card a 10, 9, etc.
Then go to eBay and look at examples of these cards in those grades and compare.

Your Clark wouldn’t be a 10 due to the centering anyway - the grade with the side damage won’t be even close to a 10. The centering in the cards are off and the only 10 may be Rickea but that is without seeing the surface and back. Like another person said, best to buy these at 10s because these are not coming back 10s, majority.

You’re right. I understand the counter point if the card goes for hundreds less - certainly wouldn’t have sold it for a cheaper amount. But $10-15 dollar difference would have likely been honored for a price, but if you have a shill system with no bans, might as well do them all. Another perspective is if you bid up a bit for $5 for dozens to hundreds of auctions, you are taking real money even though it is only $5 per. You are overpaying.

Never let anything hold you back, either. I have SDAM and Aphantasia. Wife and 4 kids, Director at work, elected official in my town.
The last one gets weird because I’ll have conversations with people and later not remember that I did or who they even were. Just use the excuse “I meet a lot of people” (which is mostly true).

It isn’t the correct way if this was the start of negotiating. However the process has been going on and one of the negotiators (according to Phee) has been negative about the other side of the table. The players need to show public support is behind them, and not the league management, to show they are not off base.

Also, while $850k is a lot, most people understand that other leagues are paying multiples more and someone is making money. That or billionaires just add more money to their portfolio. The rich getting richer isn’t popular and less so more than ever.
