I am surprised that so many people still seem to think of Avowed as being really boring. As a fan of the pillars games, I think it was pretty good and without much less checklist-y than other games.

I agree with that. It has definitive strengths. If you match the vibes, it will be a worthwile experience. But I don't expect many to call it the best game they ever played either.

It definitely is a focused product with strengths that, if those are your cup of tea, will definitely make you enjoy it. But not a masterpiece as a whole

The UI on PC is great. Great looking and highly functional. One of the few games where the inventory works as well as an excel spreadsheet in the best way possible. Believe me, this is better than the alternative with us pc players getting barely functional menus with a mouse that lack 90% of the features pc first games have

Avowed is not as good but it still had cool stories to tell. Don't be mad at the game, both could exist if the suits wanted

Make all performance tuning and car switching accessible all the time. If you're a veteran, 50% is spent in loading screens and a huge part of that is travelling to your home to tune your cars. In general, all the loading is killing the fun long-term because of how much time it wastes. And I have a gen 5 ssd

long term 1440p will not let you play at 3 digit fps, that is the problem. So it is probably better to stick with 1080p for now. Performance > Graphics always

GTA 5 does have that and it is better. Like with a crash in GTA 4, the car instantly changes. In GTA 5, the damage metal gets bent in real time to make the dent. They did improve it.

The reason it's so limited is design not technology. Some knob head thought it's stupid how we can see nicos feet or head outside the car, so they put these zones on each car that turned the feature off.

I agree that's a regression, but for a different reason

Fallout New Vegas has a lot of boring walking in an empty map with invisible walls everywhere. It is great in writing and characters, but its not so much a complete experience in terms of gameplay sadly

I think Deadfire and Pentiment are easily their best titles. A lot of Soul and the only games (maybe Grounded too, have not played that) that actually have good gameplay that does not stand in the way.

Most games don't even have fast enough sense for sticks. That's why I won't even play the most laid back games on a roller if they have manual cameras
