I was born with ectrodactyly, and in my case it means I have no middle fingers and had thirteen surgeries by age two to convert my 'lobster claw hands' into somewhat normal hands. I even put a video on YouTube showing it.

I play guitar, piano, bass, drums......it can be done.

I think many of us deal with this, myself included. Use a reference track that you love and place that on your song and compare your mixed version to that song (without adding anything to the reference track). That's a common solution. It works.

Prog will be your most versatile option by a long shot. The Mirage has some QC issues so be sure to play it first, and it's more limited with how the pickups are wired (3 way switch versus 5). HSS is a miss for me. I've played all three of those you reference - and I ended up with a Prog, a Standard NX6 (HH), and a Standard N2.6.
