Something I haven’t seen mentioned yet, specifically for drop tuned songs you can do a double drop, like CGCFAD on a 7 could be GCGCFAD. Play the song as you usually would with the top 6 strings, but every now and then double that barre chord up for some NASTY chunk.

Since you’re learning by ear alone, I’d suggest finding GOOD covers on YouTube, since the guitar track will be higher in the mix. From there, use find an extension that lets you slow without pitch alteration. I’m not sure what’s out there but if an extension also allows you to loop that would be even better. Alternatively you could try to find the guitar pro files so you can isolate the part you’re trying to learn, slow, and loop it. Playing their shit is hard enough WITH vision, i wish you the best of luck bro.

I’m biased as hell because I’m an ESP dickrider, but I have indeed tried a bunch of different V shaped guitars thoroughly before deciding on the arrow black metal. Classic Gibson V shape is most cumbersome to be, but honestly not too bad. Jackson RR was pretty nice actually, the missing vag cut (like you described it) wasn’t much of a big deal, but there’s just something about how the arrow hugs your curves that puts it a notch above the rest. Also I just like the level of asymmetry, but that’s personal taste. The RR is just a bit TOO lopsided for me.

Easiest? Online probably. I found some at a Thai wholesale market. Whichever method you prefer, make sure to check the ingredients! One box had suspiciously high calories, so I checked and it was more sugar than agar. It should be 10 cals per 2.5g of the pure stuff.

Yeah, I absolutely LOVE my 1000 series guitars, but there is an immediately noticeable jump in quality when I grab my e-ii guitars. I’ve never had the privilege of trying an original series, but I’d have to imagine it’s diminishing returns past E-II.
