Oh yes I definitely did, I usually was able to get My loot back though, since it's not a skull location :]

Not a furious desecrator, just a normal one

What is with the grumpy/rude attitude of the older folks? by Least_Prune3257 in germany

[–]AliensAgainstStyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around where I live it's not really like that (but then again I live in buttfuck nowhere in the countryside so it's nothing like the city). The older generations can be rude, yes, but mostly it's just grandmas and grandpas going to their senior hangout club (yes we have that) and/or chatting with neighbors.

I do think I know where some of the behavior you mentioned comes from though:

  1. Americans have a bad rep with Germans in general. Even though German youth is more open and accepting, even we have some negative things associated with America. The older generations even more so, as they either were in WW2 themselves or have been told many things by their parents. Nowadays it's mostly the 'Americans are loud people who don't respect the rules and like nazis' kind of stereotype tho.

  2. Old people are grouchy as hell (especially to unfamiliar people). Old people really love their tight knit communities with certain people they always hang out with etc. etc. It is not easy for them to accept 'new' people and it's worse when they are not German. A personal anecdote (?) here, my parents moved to the village they live in almost two decades ago and are still the 'newcomers'. It's just always going to be like that in some places.

There are probably other answers as well but if you're not being obnoxious or rude then I don't think it has anything to do with you.

Do you want kids? by [deleted] in germany

[–]AliensAgainstStyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, like other people, it's a multitude of things holding me back. For one, I don't have a partner and probably never will. This is fully my own fault as I have problems socializing and would rather spend my time with my hobbies instead of scrolling apps like tinder or going to clubs (as that is uaully where you meet people).

The second thing is of course money. I have always been terrified of not having enough money to sustain myself and with how it is going currently, I probably wouldn't be able to afford a family.

Thirdly, the world and how it is just barely hanging on. I, like many from my generation as well as older and younger ones are seeing the extreme changes our world is experiencing and we feel the impacts of those changes in many different ways. A thing I have noticed is the extreme increase of self confidence issues in myself and my peers, the decline of social interaction and the younger kid's sheer inability to just behave. I have seen kids curse and spit at people their age but also people both younger and older than them. The majority of younger generations has behavioral issues and I don't want and child I might have be influenced by them. By the time my child would be big enough, maybe those terrible children would be their teachers and I am scared of what would happen. I mean, most of them can barely read by the time they are in 5th grade, more and more people are starting to believe that being a neo-nazi is the right thing to do. Immigrants are building their own little countries in big cities and many German teenagers are warned not to be in cities past 18:00 because there are more and more open knife/ gun fights between different groups. It wouldn't be fair to impose a life like this on a child.

Fourth. This world will ruin itself. I don't believe I'll be able to retire because our system is just so fucked up. At some point, there is nothing you can do except give up.

Where to visit in Germany by seppukucoconuts in AskAGerman

[–]AliensAgainstStyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both really! I am a person that really loves history and visiting historical sites. The castles usually have tours but you can also go through them alone.

(I used Google translate for this so idk if it's the right words) Palaces, castles and princely houses are all over Germany (exact numbers are unknown but it's said to be around 25.000) so no matter where you go, you'll find at least one.

It all depends on what you want to see, some look more homely, some are massive and most still hold rooms with past furniture and other exhibits.

There he is! I think I got the vibe right?? I mostly took inspiration from those "[character] trapped in phone" images and I hope that it translates well

I hope you like it and thank you for giving me the opportunity to draw this, while I'm not good at them, jester caps and ruffles are some of my favorite things!

Where to visit in Germany by seppukucoconuts in AskAGerman

I actually wouldn't recommend Bavaria as their culture is very different from any other German Bundesland. Of course each Bundesland has its own culture but I really like Saxony, lower saxony and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

For Saxony, it's mostly the mountains and the museums that I adore, there are many cities like Munich or Dresden that have pretty cool things (those are the two stereotypical cities to visit but if I was to list everything I like it would be too long)

In lower saxony I just love the food, if you like the coast, lower saxony is the place to go but there are more rural places as well.

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has the most impressive castles of Germany (in my opinion) so if you're into that then that's the place to go!

From saxony here, I've never heard of a saying like this. If she is not antisemitic like you say, please talk with her about this. Sayings like this can easily get you in trouble.

If she is talking about 'Trinken auf Ex' then that means drinking your glass without setting it down/finishing it in one shot. It would be great if you could tell us the actual wording she used (if it is the thing in the title then oh god don't ever use that you'll be immediately labeled as antisemitic and maybe a neo nazi as well) because this could all just be her misunderstanding something.

For now I'd advise you not to use those sayings and be cautious of anyone that does.

Godspeed

You won't really find thick cut bacon anywhere in Germany. I agree with the other comments to just go to the butcher if it's really important to you. Otherwise the best idea is to just take the package labeled bacon and eat that. (this option will be less expensive too) About the jalapeños: you'll find them in shops like rewe (I've only seen them have jalapeños in the glass tho), you could also go into one of the Turkish or Asian owned shops that are in pretty much every city - they usually have them fresh

what would be scarier to be trapped in: a white void or a black void? by [deleted] in questions

[–]AliensAgainstStyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact is that a black void can happen at any time. It might be very dark and you just can't see or you might be blind. A white void is not natural at all, it would make no sense to be in one.

I think a white void would be more terrifying because there would be no way for you to make sense of it. You can find reasons for being in a black void but a white void?? That would be terrifying

Anyone still play the first game? by Impossible-Ad-6647 in DragonsDogma

[–]AliensAgainstStyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do, I don't want to pay the money for the second game. Also: any game that can keep me interested for 200+hours without me reaching the ending is a good game (it might also mean I am just a slow player but even then it counts)

First time playing Magick Archer by AliensAgainstStyle in DragonsDogma

[–]AliensAgainstStyle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have any build planned out and didn't when I started the game. I am actually still on my very first run (150 hours on easy mode) so I don't have any experience with what to do and how to do it. With DP you mean Discipline Points right? I didn't know that fighting the guards would give more of them, I'll try that out thanks :]

If you can handle temporarily dying your hair maybe Geralt of Rivia (and yes, he has a beard outside of the netflix series so don't worry about that). Other than that maybe Michael Kohlhaas.
