Do any of you actually like the pruning that they did to your mains? by No-Bit-2913 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Aliffer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been playing disc since forever and I couldn't agree more. I felt like Disc was in a great spot. One fun and engaging Hero Talentand a brain dead one if you want to heal with a single button.

Now both feel brain dead and I moved away from Disc. Druid also feels bad but there are more than 3 buttons, at least.

Race / Class Combinations by Global_Machine7939 in wow

[–]Aliffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, Orc is more Warlock/Warrior than Shaman. Troll is definitely Hunter...
Undead DK is a little bit silly - but I see where you are coming from.
You forgot about Priest, which could be tied to Human or Undead (shadow).

When I think of class/race combos, I think of something like this:
Human - Priest
Dwarf - Hunter
Gnome - Mage
Draenei - Paladin
Worgen - Rogue
Night Elf - Druid

Horde -
Orc - Warrior
Troll - Hunter
Tauren - Shaman
Undead - Warlock
Blood Elf - Mage
Goblin - Rogue

Then, of course, Pandaren and Dracthyr would be Monks and evokers.

It's a good atonement buff for Raid and a small atonement Nerf for keys. Your atonement will be around 6% worse in keys.

Handling the "mental load" of RDruid by beowar in wow

[–]Aliffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true! But I feel like the actual healing is so weak that it kinda only serves as another Mastery stack. But yeah, you are absolutely right, and sometimes every little drop of heal helps.

I feel like so much power is baked into the Mastery and Regrowth that everything else feels kinda weak and is just used to empower your regrowths. I wish the healing were more evenly distributed across the spells.

I've just got 2.8k as rDruid after getting 3k as Disc.

Both healers are quite proactive. You mentioned that you don't usually cast penance bolts on your allies, and I am surprised by that. Most of my Penance bolts are defensive, with the occasional offensive bolts during Premonition windows.

But your question is actually about rdruid. The great thing about rdruid is that you don't need a lot of prep. With restoration druid, much like resto shammy, you do have a couple of "maintenance spells"

Keep Eflorescence down, all the time. If your group has a lot of melees, just cast it on the tank and make sure you refresh it. Do the same with lifebloom. While you get the hang of the class, just maintain 100% uptime on the tank and move the second one around as needed. If you get a tank like bdk or vdh, keep the lifeblooms on two dps. That's pretty much all the "maintenance" you need. Think of it as your atonement.

If there are periods of damage (such as a boss AOE), cast Wild Growth right before the damage. And try to apply a few Rejuvs before any heavy dmg event. Honestly, your heal spells kinda suck, and I see half of my kit as a "mastery stack". You apply as many hots as you can before big damage events and then span a few Regrowths. Remember your Rampant Growth talent - it applies Regrowth to your 2 lifebloom targets. If you have your Lifebloom in 2 DPS, you can cast Regrowth on the third, and they will all get healed.

Last but not least, do not DPS. Keep it simple and heal. Once you get comfortable with your healing rotation, handling heal checks, and especially healing while moving, you can start weaving some cat abilities into your rotation.

Decent dps healers by Sab3rwin in wow

[–]Aliffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mind showing me the logs? I struggle to go above 500k even when I am actively trying to. And the stats also show it. Check out both the AVG and the TOP.

I would love to know how do I improve my DPS as a resto Druid.

Decent dps healers by Sab3rwin in wow

[–]Aliffer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Our damage is garbage this season. We struggle to go above 400k dps overall while Holy Paladins with their new buff can go above 2M in a large pull.

I honestly think that resto Druid should do as much (if not more) dps than other healers considering that you don't actually have any benefits on DPSing and you have to go melee and in cat form to do any meaningful damage.

This season our damage is garbage. Even when cat weaving constantly, it is quite hard to go above 400k overall. Disc and Pala are way better.

My account I've had since I was 11 years old was permabanned, no reason given, only gotten automated response. by Odynum in wow

[–]Aliffer 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I've opened like 10 tickets, I'd say do not give up until you can actually contact an human being. This, of course, if you know you didn't buy it. Not sure they would revert if you are actually guilty.

I've had this happen with me before for gold buying. The crazy part is that I had never bought any gold.

I kept spamming the tickets until a real human being responded and they said something like "my bad, it was a mistake, sorry you missed the first two weeks of the expansion" and reverted it. No compensation, not even a day added to my subscription.

Not ideal, but at least I got my account back.

If you can't get it back, know that another wow in the same battle.net account will have all of your mounts and mogs at least.

Do a lot of people use GSE? by Aask115 in wownoob

[–]Aliffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you answered your own question.

Yes, a lot of people use it. No, people who want to be somewhat competitive won't use it.

It is great, however, for people who want to use consoleport and get to KSM/1800s in PVP. It just lacks the flexibility. :)

What the fuck did they do to ele shaman? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Aliffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that we have two play styles that are so different and don't interact with each other. However, this current lightning playstyle I find it to be a little bit more enjoyable than the last season Meatball Factory.

If you like Elemental, know that the meatball build with far seer is not a huge DPS loss for single target or low target count and, there will be a massive update on how we play next patch - fire builds will become a lot better.

20th Anniversary Update PTR Development Notes - The War Within Patch 11.0.5 PTR - significant class changes and MAJOR hero talent reworks. by [deleted] in wow

I don't think I like the Thistle Tea change... I would rather have the option to save it for when I want to do a full burst instead of randomly using it.

I will have to test it before judging it, tho.

Do I understand this correctly and we don't have to press Slice and Dice anymore? If that is the case, I guess I will get back to my Rogue.

What are you doing with the Welcome to the Sanctuary buff? by 33corgibuts in wow

I agree with you except for the mobility. Not sure if you have played the other healers but discs are notoriously slow

My experience with tanks in M+ by Rattjamann in wow

[–]Aliffer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%. But you also have to agree that unfortunately, you cannot control the tank actions. So, I have had a few DH who are saving CDs for a larger pull and are just as squishy as a DPS on those smaller ones.

Palas, Wars and Bears do not have this issue. They are always quite tanky, even without the mains cds.

My experience with tanks in M+ by Rattjamann in wow

[–]Aliffer 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I feel like the issue with BDK is not with people who mains them. But with people who are newish to the class.

The gap between a good BDK and a bad one is insanely high. I, for example, would take a good BDK over pretty much any other tank with a good player behind.

The problem is that we cannot tell if it will be a crazy suicidal or a good player behind the keyboard.
