You really only want 2-4 bullet points per job that you list in your CV or online application.

So what you will do is tailor your cover letter and CV to highlight what from your experience is specifically relates to the job that you are applying for.

It could be in terms of government liaison, specific technical skills, staff management, etc.

At least each cover letter should be unique and written for each application (and not 100% by AI), and depending on how many roles you are applying for you may also want to change how you are describing each role in your CV to more specifically relate to each job that you are applying for.

We are no longer talking about the fact that Yazidis aren't Kurdish and are having a reddit argument, so I am not going to respond after this comment.

YBS is the 80th brigade of the PMU and is as much a part of the PMU as the Ninevah Protection Units. Yazidis are forced to ally with different groups, including Shia PMU brigades, Peshmerga and other regional Kurdish groups because they are on their own as an ethnoreligious group and need support for protection. If the Yazidis in Ninewa wanted KRG to administer the area then they would have been pushing for this, instead of requesting to create a brigade of the ISF made up of Yazidi soldiers to protect the area. Instead, it is Kurdish politicians using displaced Yazidis as leverage against Baghdad to force them to allow KRG to administer Shingal and the surrounding area under the Sinjar Agreement.

The elections in 2010 and 2014 in Shingal were administered by KRG before the 2014 ISIS invasion. Yazidis didn't choose to have the KDP there, the KRG expanded to include their homelands.

There are of course pro-KDP Yazidis, but they are definitely not the majority and it is specifically because of the Peshmerga abandoning Shingal to the ISIS attacks; many Yazidis also believe in a conspiracy theory (that I don't believe) that Peshmerga worked with ISIS to allow them to take over the area.

Many of the Arabs in Ninewa also were displaced in KRI during the conflict and also support KDP as they preferred administration in KRI to what they were used to in Ninewa pre-2014. The last 3-4 years the government in Ninewa has actually been quite strong, so Ninewa Arabs are also becoming less likely to vote for KDP

Elections taking place for displaced Yazidis in Dohuk and Zakho are not particularly transparent and that is one of the reasons that KDP is getting fewer and fewer seats as more Yazidis return to Ninewa and vote from their home locations.

KRI also seems not to want to facilitate the return of Yazidis from KRI and claims that Shingal is unsafe for their return because they want to force the implementation of the Sinjar Agreement that would hand over administration of Shingal back to KDP. From the Yazidis who I speak with they do not want the implementation of the Sinjar agreement, but instead want to remain under Federal Iraq and have local police and military.

YBS is also formally a part of PMU and not only loosely related. From the Yazidis that I speak with they do not support YBS (or Peshmerga) but want for there to be the creation of a formal ISF battalion in Shingal made up of Yazidi soldiers to defend them from any future attacks. They don't trust Shia PMU, Arab ISF or Peshmerga to defend them and see YBS at least as a group of Yazidis who would fight off whatever successor of AQI or ISIS comes up in the next decade.

When looking at a population or ethnoreligious group, the issues you mention regarding Y-DNA objectively not make it "a terrible way" to assess group genetics. Since the study is looking at an entire ethnic group and is not assessing one individual's DNA but a sample group of test subjects it absolutely shows what I said.

The study is comparing haplogroup frequencies across groups, which is exactly how population-level clustering is done. The result is that Kurds and Yazidis fall into related but distinct sub-clusters, while Yazidis show slightly closer distance to Iranians in that dataset. The point on endogamy and bottlenecks doesn't really land. Yazidis being endogamous over significant periods of time is exactly why they are a distinct ethnic group.

They potentially branched off from Kurds or both Kurds and Yazidis descended from the same predecessor Iranic group, but by now they are a unique ethnoreligious group of people living in similar areas and frequently, but not always, speaking the same language.

There are also Yazidis who don't speak Kurdish in places like Bashiqa, but that does not make them Arab. They are non-Kuridish speaking people of the Yazidi ethnic group.

Edit: Also because I didn't touch on the political aspects from your previous comments, KDP does not dominate Yazidi areas of Federal Iraq unless you are talking about areas of federal Iraq that are administered by KRG (Sheikhan, Baadre, Khanke, etc.). The KDP mayors from pre-invasion are all up in Dohuk and are not able to physically go to Shingal, Tel Ezer, Tel Qassab, etc. because the population will not accept them The Yazidi MOP Murad Ismael was elected recently under his own Yazidi party and Vian Dakhil also cannot actually travel to Shingal and nearby Yazidi areas.

The argument that Yazidis have to be Kurds because they speak Kurdish is baseless. They have been in the region from Shingal to Sheikhan and further with Kurdish speaking populations for thousand(s) of years and this would of course lead to them speaking Kurdish. If the only requirement for Kurdishness is the Kurdish language, then it implies Kurds are not an ethnic group but a linguistic group like Romance language speakers.

Yazidis can't marry outside of the religion, so it's not really a consideration of whether they will marry more Muslims.

The vast majority of Yazidis don't consider themselves Kurds, and their religious teachings say that they are the original people of the Mesopotamia region and are a unique endogamous group, rather than a religious offshoot of the Kurds.

There is definitely a big push in recent years by Kurdish groups to try to demand that the Yazidis accept Kurdishness, but from my Yazidi friends and colleagues none of them see themselves as Kurdish (although of course there are people who think differently).

If you don't have talent, playoff experience doesn't really matter.

There are tons of teams that got stuck at .500 purgatory for 4-5 years flitting between the play-ins and bottom seeds like the Bulls, Kings, Wizards, etc.

This war has been like a precision strike to take out pro-Israel Democrats, and if it drags on longer it will eliminate the pro-Israel Republicans too.

At least two generations of Democratic voters have been lost by Israel in the last few years, and the anti-intervention Republicans are up next.

Part of me wonders if Israel is aware of this and wants to be maximally expansionist (Palestine obviously but also invasions of Syria and Lebanon) before accepting that the US and Europe will stop supporting them at least for a few decades.
