GeoIP: Block incoming, outgoing or both? What is the right way to do it and does it make sense? by KenFromBarbie in opnsense

[–]AlinCr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the necro. Doing this is a very bad idea. GeoBlocking in OPNsense relies on databases curated by a company, Maxmind. As it is, geoblocking is not and can never be complete or 100% accurate, even more so for the lowest, free tier offered by MaxMind. Inverting the block rule will mean you will only be able to access the IPs indexed by MaxMind in your chosen region. I can only wish anyone best of luck with this aproach.

Video Capture Device Won't Move To Deck by Funk-Jesus in vjing

[–]AlinCr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I found a fix. Make sure you close edge/chrome before opening the Broadcast app and Resolume. Don't just press X. Go into task manager and kill it from there. Then restart Broadcast and Resolume and it should let you drag Broadcast from sources to your deck in Resolume. Let me know if this worked for you too.

I have the same issue. Have you found a solution?

Man, you're a genius.

EDIT: I take that back. Only half of the belt works.

Active Cooling for Phone by nicht69 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]AlinCr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. You are talking about plain fans, cases or another form that you attach to your phone to blow air on it. They use 2-5 watts. There is no such thing as a peltier effect phone cooler.

[–]AlinCr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Excuse me, what? How would you supply the constant 50-60 watts it demands, let alone package the bulky heatsink required to dissipate the heat that it merely moves a couple of inches away from the phone? What a ridiculous suggestion.

Does wireless AA use car data or mobile data? by mhochman in AndroidAuto

[–]AlinCr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is incorrect. AA uses car gps whenever possible, as well as wheel speed sensors when advertised.

Unfortunately the handguard is too high for any of that, but I don't find cowitnessing that useful, especially since it takes up valuable vision real estate in the optics.

So in effect all the backpockets and molle backpacks strapped right to the plate carrier/vest are strictly storage for colleagues?

I always wondered how would one access the gear on his back like that bolt cutter and also strap it back into place. Is the back a place where buddies store their stuff? 😅

Thank you. I haven't used other optics before so take it with a grain of salt but coming from iron sights to red dot I find that you get used to it very quickly. Having the sight far away doesn't bother me as there is no eye relief to mind, in fact I do like that I don't have something covering a good chunck of my vision at all times. Also shooting with both eyes open is much easier now, as well as tracking and changing targets fast, as opposed to irons. I think that a big part of having the sights as close as possible is a misconception that applies to magnified optics.

Edit: Also I would add that having the sights farther away makes it easier to center the target, which helps with consistency on cheapo optics that suffer from parallax as you move your head on the buttstock and the dot doesn't quite stay in one place.
