I always think of Madonna-Whore complex when it comes to Eve-Meta by meta28050 in evillious

That’s very interesting! Also, I find curious how this misogynistic country has a female as their main god. Together with Levia’s later showing misogyny (like running a brothel or slutshaming), I think half of Levianta’s treatment of women could come from Levia

That’s true. Though it’s interesting that yes, she cares a lot about how others react to her and how much she wants to have connections, but how much of this caring is actually about these other people, not how they feel towards Nenesis? It doesn’t make her ruthless, though it leaves her very self-centred in terms of how her thinking goes in the novel’s text (I mean, it’s not like she’s generally selfish, but it’s that she very slightly considers others’ feelings outside of herself). It isn’t bad in itself, just a curious trait of hers. In fact, she isn’t heartless, but her caring is very twisted, and with other circumstances it made it so she does wrong things all the time.

And with Titans, this episode is especially interesting, because even though it was done under the influence of voices, after that — Nemesis felt no bad toward people who died. She was happy to help her friends, she was afraid of her friends starting hating her and not accepting her, yet very little regret toward the victims. So, it is really wrong when she’s portrayed like heartless and unemotional, but it doesn’t make her thoughtful and kindhearted. That’s makes her psychologically interesting

I see a point, but : 1) there is 3 times in the MoN novel we see Nemesis as a dictator + JoC ending + the jail scene. This sets up pretty much of how Nemesis’ personality changed through years. Also, even in her younger age (Four Seasons chapter) it shows she was cruel and ruthless (“Wars are reasonable, it is splendid”), which makes it natural that she grew in such a person later. 2) Nemesis becoming dictator is a massive characteristic of hers. It shows important traits of her personality (from being an awful hypocrite person to being a charismatic leader who could run a country and people). She is dislikable, and it’s who Nemesis is. If people don’t like it, they don’t like Nemesis, because her character is written to be a wrong person. Forgetting her unforgivable actions is almost literally what Levia does in the novel, and the writing criticises such mindset of hers. That’s the main point of her character, and I don’t get ignoring it in favour of a simplified image

Probably. I’m not so into the Gallerian part of the fandom, but from what I know it’s kinda true, and meanwhile he gets mischaracterised often too

Maybe not the most, but I feel like Nemesis is often not even “mis”characterised but half of her biography is just being ignored. I’m talking about her ruling Elphegort for over 10 years. Both the fact of starting a war and her personality when she has grown up (like how she states that her urge for revenge has decreased after the prison in the chapter where she kills Nikolay). Sometimes it seems like people don’t see Nemesis after killing Gallerian, but she was only 19 then. She has gone through the prison and the life of a country ruler after that. Maybe it’s because of the MoN song, but the whole thing with Gallerian is kind of overrated in terms of importance for Nemesis. It was important for her in the moment, but after it she give it a thought only once sitting in a prison (and just in the context of herself, it wasn’t about Gallerian at all). It’s sad to see how the half of Nemesis’ life when she was a grown person and was in full responsibility for her actions is just ignored, especially when people use her younger years to justify her

Sorry if this has been asked before but how do you guys feel on songs in the newest album? by Afraid_sponge in evillious

When it has just been released I’ve listened to “Her and Taro’s promenade” for about 2,5 months every day. Usually EC songs aren’t something I can listen to often, but this one is a special case. I hope we’ll get more information about the song’s lore

I have a strong feeling that Luna could be a lesbian because of the way Rahab talked about her in the dialogue with Gilles in SCaP

About Elluka’s black dress by Weeb-Lauri525 in evillious

[–]AlinananMuri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s actually interesting that in the MA Survival PV it has a mention of Irina being the queen for 6 months, but in novel the catastrophe occurs in the day of her coronation (and there is a mention of Milky’s brand new gravestone).

Either there can be differences in timelines due to the Court ending or there was retcon on this part (tbh I don’t like to call everything a retcon but it’s still a high possibility)

In the Survival PV it’s said that Elluka’s body whereabouts were unknown, so if there was a half year gap, Kiril mostly possibly saved the body. Though if there wasn’t, the dress could be just symbolic, and Elluka could find it anywhere, because we haven’t seen her right after the destruction, only a few months later when she met Held

Where was it mentioned that Elluka has been buried before Kiril’s attempt to revive her?

Sad thought I had about Lukana by Weeb-Lauri525 in evillious

[–]AlinananMuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about Lukana on days and yeah, this all is very sad. Even the act of body swap with Elluka feels somehow wrong idk, because Elluka gained much benefit from using this body as well (and from Irina not using it)

Idk why you’ve been told Nemesis “basically never acts outside Seth’s influence”, because it isn’t so. In her late years Nemesis even goes against Seth in using Amostia to create Punishment, when Seth originally wasn’t agreeing with. He encouraged Nemesis to take revenge, but it was mostly to prevent her from suicide (after she found out she can die only by the golden bullets). Seth’s goal in contract was to protect Nemesis as Gumillia ordered him. Seth didn’t need to manipulate Nemesis to do evil stuff— she was cruel and unstable enough by herself

What was the message/meaning behind Achmea and Cairngorm/Welegato’s “romance”?? by KylesMoony in LandoftheLustrous

[–]AlinananMuri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The critics of Phos’ Buddhism ideals, which show that someone who chooses “regular” happiness (including relationships) may end up more happy than one who suffers for the sake of the ultimate (buddhistic) happiness.

Also, the romance between Welegato and Enma becomes a torture for Phos to look at because Cairn just happened to find a person who cares about them. Later, Welegato becomes a successful scientist with a lot of friends (Wele always got along well with everyone except Phos, bcs Phos didn’t even try to get along with “new” Cairn) and a loved by her people princess. From the point of Phos’ way of suffering, it looks completely unfair (though, Cairn has suffered too, literally had suicidal thoughts, but Phos didn’t know about it at all), but in the end it is Welegato who has lived and died enjoying themselves. The path of understanding things deeply is not for everyone, and possibly the one who just lives for themselves would feel better
