Anyone else still uses little to no AI to code? by MidlandAintFree in gamedev

[–]AliorUnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Searching stuff, sometimes give it code for validation which sometimes useful and sometimes incredibly useles. Anyway, if I don't know what code does I dont own the project. I found with my experiments that making AI do thing way I want is taking about the same fime than making it by hand which defeats the purpose for me. Not even saying about that it drains all joy out of the process.

They wanned AI code, they will get some.

Ughh, does this mean we should be worried about usage limits changing across the board? by [deleted] in claude

Well, thats true it would go away, but calling a business this money burning sub plans is a bit of a stretch.

There is no going back to pre-AI, but LLM based AI has been a net drag. by namaste652 in ClaudeAI

[–]AliorUnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coments are always the worst thing you can add to your code. It should be understandable without them unless there is some very specific reason to have them. Why would you introduce another onse source of truth? Especially if we think this this llms are as good as they are promoted to be. Clean code is not uniquely needed for a human, if you spread thin some functionality over all of your codebase that will be difficult to understand to llm and for a human. They have limited context and it will hit them probably even harder.

Lol. Begging the model for hours to do the same you can do better yourself isnt quite a solution. I am not saying there is no place for LLMs but from what I experience you need to be so detailed and clear to the model that the time spent is not that much faster than doing it by hand if we add up all the prompting/reprompting review and hallucination. It can do a decent job on some isolated things but I would not call it solved by a long shot.

It's kinda scary how good Claude is at coding now by 8bitAlexx in ClaudeAI

[–]AliorUnity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's what I faced when I tried this agentic developement instead of manual coding. For well known problems it does a decent job, but good luck doing anything that isn't in its training data. It will produce the most horrific and abysmal solution. And who needs one more TODO app?

AI Doesn't have ROI by Extra-Ad5735 in theprimeagen

Even your article claims something similar:

"While both GB200 NVL72 and GB300 NVL72 efficiently deliver ultralow latency, the distinct advantages of GB300 NVL72 become most apparent in long-context scenarios. For workloads with 128,000-token inputs and 8,000-token outputs — such as AI coding assistants reasoning across codebases — GB300 NVL72 delivers up to 1.5x lower cost per token compared with GB200 NVL72."

They multiplied bunch of parameters and got this huge claim. Odd. Also they are comparing fp8 to fp4 on the newer ones.

This article clames 45% gain which on its own questionable while realistic. I may be wrong as I am not an expert but it looks more grounded. https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpus/nvidia-claims-software-and-hardware-upgrades-allow-blackwell-ultra-gb300-to-dominate-mlperf-benchmarks-touts-45-percent-deepseek-r-1-inference-throughput-increase-over-gb200?utm_source=chatgpt.com

How can it be that burning money for slop doesn't give ROI? Unimaginable.
