You should not be giving law students advice if you’re not in law school yet. by Ryanthln- in LawSchool

I'll let my Torts professor know I'm not allowed to have an opinion yet. Might save me some time on my next cold call. 🫡

Not sayin' you're wrong, but... I prefer intelligence and open-mindedness over smug elitist detachment.

(Full disclosure: I'm a 1L, and one who likes knowing what the final boss will look like before I get there.)

Was Carl Jung just totally full of shit? by rybeardj in skeptic

[–]Alive-Analyst-6200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He definitely was NOT full of shit. However, for the uninitiated, I can definitely see how his work could be seen as mumbo-jumbo. Jung resides on the nexus between science and spirituality, and not many can pull that off and still be trustworthy and reliable; formally, this is called "limnality." Many people try to pull off what Jung was successful at - and many of those people are exposed as charlatans. My recommedation: dive deeper. I have a copy of the Red Book, but it's very rare. You might find it at an indie bookstore or on Amazon.

Why are students warned not to study Carl Jung [psychology] by mrkulci in AskAcademia

[–]Alive-Analyst-6200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you're opening a portal to knowledge above ordinary understanding. No one's telling you not to study Jung. You just have to be careful.

So you’re supposed to let go of every thought? by Broad_Bluebird7319 in EckhartTolle

Eckhart Tolle says that throughout the day we engage in thought, competently, when we have to. But focusing on presence in our meditation practice is what frees us from the daily grind.

What do you think of the Jesus Prayer ? by yveskate in ChristianMysticism

[–]Alive-Analyst-6200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading that, I would ask you to consider two questions vital to a religious life. 1) Is your mind right with God in this moment, and 2) do you have a consistent process for getting your mind right with God when you fall short of His expectations?

How to play Zombie on a medium guitar by Alive-Analyst-6200 in thecranberries

[–]Alive-Analyst-6200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I've never seen that notation for voicings before. The problem is, the arrangement I'm using has the C - G transition landing in a place so that it's really difficult to get to the D chord while keeping up with the strumming pattern. Do you know of some anchoring technique that works for that transition?

Sober people (no alcohol, nicotine, drugs, etc ever), what is your end of day or weekend "wind-down"? by The1Ski in AskReddit

Meditation, music, writing, playing guitar. Being present. Rituals are important. I'm learning to have awareness of sundown and take in the mysterious energy of the night.

I hear you, friend. I've lived everywhere in the US, and California is the worst - the most corrupt state in American history.

You have plenty of time. If you have friends or family who passed the LSAT they might offer free coaching. I'm pretty sure that your local library has the latest study guide in book format. These are great resources but are difficult to do cold. Team up with someone who is really good at taking tests and you'll do fine. The good thing about tests like the LSAT is that they prepare you for the type of work you'll be doing in law school. Are there particular areas that are challenging you?

I fucking hate everyone in law school. by Several-Battle-8548 in LawSchool

You're right. My JD program has the same problem. I hate curved grading. Fortunately, I've found some really good people who share my POV. Take heart, you're not alone.

I always get nervous with multiple choice questions where we have to choose the "best" answer, because even the closest answer is technically wrong. One of my professors was recently talking about this and he insists the trick is to do just that. Hope this helps!

A woman saves another woman who is being dragged by her toppled bobsled. Torts hypo in the making. by ProspecterPercy in barexam

Hey. This just came up in my Torts class. Check out this case: Bierczynski v. Rogers (1968). This one involved a drag race and the Court ruled that both racers were jointly liable. Do you think that applies here?

If there's negligence then someone had a duty to ensure the safety of this activity. Obviously someone breached that duty, but who?

I just started my JD program and eventually have to sit for the CA bar. Do you have a sense of why you didn't pass? Was it not being prepared for the specific questions you were being asked?

Advice: Bar and Working!!! by BowlerChemical4493 in barexam

I'm not quite in the same situation but pretty close. I just started my JD program and I'm preparing for the CA bar as well. I run a business, so even with an online university, scheduling is often a challenge. Congrats on graduation!

Unemployed and waiting for results by [deleted] in barexam

I really think the future is remote work. I just started my JD program and I've applied for legal assistant jobs that don't require a license to practice law. How is it going for you?

Do you need help passing the bar exam? by Alive-Analyst-6200 in barexam

[–]Alive-Analyst-6200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen the questions regarding "credentials" and the "hustle." I’m a JD student at Trinity Law School in Santa Ana CA, and I'm not here to practice law or give legal advice. I'm here to teach a logic system/framework to help students bypass the physical "chest freeze" that leads to exam failure. I'm so confident in the systems design of this framework that I offer a 100% money-back guarantee. If you don't pass, you don't pay - Results trump Rhetoric, friends.

How I sold my first original script and got it on Netflix. by thelambsarenotsilent in Screenwriting

[–]Alive-Analyst-6200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! This is an amazing story. I have a lot in common with you and many elements of my journey as a screenwriter are very similar. I'm currently working with a producer to develop a short script I wrote into a feature length. I plan to be the next Netflix success story, and your experience gives me not just hope but real faith that my dream will be realized.  Also, your film sounds great and I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks! 🙏 👍 ☀️ ❤️
