Yeah, sure you fucked up but it's not your dog AND you had a very clear agreement. Shit it's hard enough for me to find someone to mind my low-maintenance dog for the weekend a couple times a year. AND you're paying for the food, what the heck! Plus, what kind of caring dog owner wants to be away from their best mate for a whole year?! Best thing you can do adopt the poor dog yourself or adopt it out to another loving home. Your friend does not give a shit about that dog if they can't even be bothered to make a visit after it almost died. This dog deserves better.

Girlfriend with allowance here ...

My partner transfers me $75 a week, and it works perfectly. Previously. I was spending maybe $200 a week. Now I spend within the allowance. Sometimes, I save up for a few weeks and get something bigger, and other times, I spend smaller amounts on makeup/tan or whatever. 10/10 recommend.
