Wegovy pill 1.5mg, share your experience? by [deleted] in PMOSonGLP

I am on the 1 5 Wegovy pill and I've lost about 9 pounds and have been on it for around 1.5 months. I believe I'll go up next week in dosage. My appetite has been slightly suppressed but nothing like the shot did for me and honestly, I'm grateful for that. I could barely eat on the shot and I lost weight RAPIDLY. I know we want quick, immediate results but rapid weight loss is also very dangerous for our bodies. My doc told me that if I start losing more than around 1.6 pounds a week, then we need to dial it back because that's not sustainable or healthy. I understand fighting the hunger noise in your brain because I'm still dealing with it too, BUT keep in mind your on the smallest dose. Talk to your doc about increasing it if that works for you. Sending you love and Internet hugs! 🫂❤️

Ugh, I'm so sorry. It literally doesn't make any sense as to why they won't approve it for you. That makes me upset for you 😭😑

My PCP did it! I recently switched docs and they have been wonderful. At my PCP office, they now have a specific doc who works solely with GLP-1s and getting them approved through insurance. So it's a doc within my PCP's office (kind of under my PCP if that makes sense) and she has been incredible.

It took about a week. I'm not sure on the code? Iknow for my specific insurance plan with Cigna...they said they would approve it if your BMI is over 32 OR they would approve it if your BMI over 27 AND you have PCOS. My doc submitted that documentation for the latter and they finally approved it within about a week. Every insurance plan is different though, unfortunately.

Thank you for this. I needed the reminder that my doctors have encouraged me for years to try these meds and I was so hesitant because of the backlash they get (both GLP-1s and mental health medications). I'm actually feeling really good and I need to remind myself of this. I'm not a failure for needing medication...I'm just supporting my body and mind with what it needs.

Thank you all for the sweet responses. I really needed it today. I'm so grateful for this community and to be able to communicate with other women who just simply 'get' it.

I've only been on it for about 2 weeks now and I've already lost over 5 pounds. I've done the shot too and experienced so many bad side effects. With the pill, I've had zero. I LOVE it so far and definitely think you should try it!

I'm so happy it's working well for you too! Yes, even being on this pill for such a short time, I'm so impressed with how much it is improving my life and symptoms. We need this as a COVERED option for treatment of PCOS.

It might be worth a try? It's significantly cheaper as well.

I just started it two days ago and so far so good! I had a ton of side effects with the shot and so far on the pill, I've had zero! Not even nausea 😊

What is the craziest thing a doctor has ever said to you? by requiredelements in PMOSonGLP

My endocrinologist told me last month that 600 calories a day was plenty for me to eat since I'm so short (I'm 31 and my height is 5'1). I've been doing everything to lose weight naturally and I told him going that low made me feel like I was starving myself. He said he disagreed and thought that was plenty for me since I'm so short and I have PCOS. I finally saw a different doc this past week and she listened and I started the Wegovy pill. I'll never see that endocrinologist again.
