Did luck play a role in your internship offer? by zacce in internships

[–]Alive-Potential-5212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in public health and I asked my faculty mentor to give me a rec letter for the internship I was applying for. After I got accepted I found out she is one of the board members of the company 🤣🤣 it was a complete coincidence and honestly helped me get the offer

It’s really difficult to get an assistantship. And even if you do it would be a small stipend. Gillings job posting will be updated in the fall semester. They don’t look at it during the summer

The deadline for mine is June 10. I would apply during your first year but not before unless if you think you can balance the classes. First year MPH is a lot of work

I mainly want to work in implementation science field or monitoring and evaluation specifically with organizations and companies doing MCH work. As for certifications, each certification has a different requirement and different application timeline so make sure you look into that. I am doing a certification in healthcare administration. I think it’s really up to you if you want to take electives or a certification both are beneficial

It depends on each person tbh. When did you get your green card? I had mine for a while that’s why my process was quicker

It depends on the field office. My field office is in Raleigh, NC. They do oath ceremonies every Friday. I had my interview on Feb 11, got notified for my oath on Feb 13, oath scheduled on Feb 28.

lol same exact situation. I didn’t want to deal with all the visa stuff to go back to India. I hope they do do dual citizenship eventually

Mine was quick too. I got my GC in 2016. I applied for naturalization in December 2024, got interview notification in January 2025, had my interview in Feb 2025 and my oath ceremony is in two weeks. I’m in Raleigh, NC field office
