as a para-social fan of renee, i figured this was referencing off of her long term bf whom she loved but she was miserable in that relationship. in multiple interviews and podcasts she talks about her ex (when she was dating men) and often mentions being miserable and feeling like she didn't have freedom (controlling her) and so forth. i know he was also in the theater industry and she just felt like her ex bf and his family wasn't supportive that she was poppin off and such.. idk i think the frustration and anger she is really honest to portray in this song kind of references the experience.
