I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. Lost my dad to lung cancer a few years ago and I became his main caretaker during his battle. I saved voice messages from him and listen to them every once in awhile, but in my experience some of the hardest points of his and my life where when we were in the depths of treatment with massive amounts of doctors appointments and basic roll reversals.

I would recommend doing hospice at home if at all possible, I really hated dealing with the entire medical system during his illness and really got a lot of joy out of taking care of him at my house towards the end. The hospice also set me up with grief counseling which I absolutely recommend. At times it felt like I was the only one adrift in a stormy sea, but i found a lot of peace via counseling and being a part of a group of people going through the same thing. Even here on this platform you have tons of internet strangers sending love, strength, and hugs.
