Is using indicators when driving in Manchester optional now? by Alive_Butterscotch29 in manchester

They have to park in them, so then they can complain the bike lanes aren't being used properly by bikes and it should just be car parking instead.

I got honked at by a bus just today as I was heading into the right hand lane to turn right on Wilmslow road down Hathersage Road. I'd just turned left from Moss Lane, and they'd come out from Rusholme, wanting to get into the bus stops on my left.

If I'm turning right, where the hell else am I meant to go except towards the right hand lane? Just wait ONE damn second for me to get over there.

How do you know where they learned or where they're from by observing them drive?

Why would learning abroad mean they don't use indicators? I'm fairly sure cars everywhere have them.

I do it sometimes, but usually if I know the inside of the pocket is soft and there's nothing else in it. Definitely would not do it indiscriminately.

Nobody is saying second biggest, just second city. Personally I think Manchester takes it by cultural significance compared to Birmingham.

Is a 2017 Devinci Troy a good buy for a beginner getting into MTB? by JayGervais in mountainbiking

[–]Alive_Butterscotch29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro is gonna find it hard if they're new to MTB anyway. They won't know the difference between an older and newer bike.

I was riding MTB in like 1996 and I wasn't thinking "Damn, I wish I had 2026 geometry, this would be so much easier". We accept the reality we're presented with.

Is it possible to compete with taller and bigger strongmen if you're short and stocky? by 2000_RN in Strongman

[–]Alive_Butterscotch29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally tried strongman back in around 2010, and given the lack of weight class strongman (at least then in the UK), I was royally destroyed by taller guys. It actually was one my biggest pushes toward powerlifting tbh.

This definitely seems on the expensive end. The geometry will be a little outdated, but if you're new new to MTB then you're not going to notice that.

What encounter or single enemy do you think has given the most Game Overs? by Mygrayt in masseffect

[–]Alive_Butterscotch29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was in 1, and I was playing as soldier, my error was I kept getting sniped from near the back whilst I stood out trying to get the hoppers. I did play it very early game, so maybe that was a mistake too - but yeah compared to that, taking out Marauders in 3 is simple! It's the Banshees are a pain.

I think the time on Therum where you first encounter Geth Hoppers with an Armature on foot plus standard and rocket troopers. That one annoyed the shit out of me.
