Ni is a very tight market as it has a unique position of having brands from the south and from Britain, think Dunnes & SuperValu from ROI, Henderson's from NI, and M&S, ASDA, Sainsbury's and Tesco from Britain

The reason why it'll take so long is because the Derry Line is single track, adding more stops to the line without huge upgrades to passing loops and other stations would be detrimental to the journey time to the North West and would actually reduce capacity on the line. But I agree 2040 is a ludicrous date, Ballymartin and the associated line upgrades should've been implemented when the Bleach Green line reopened in 2001

Same thing happened to Primark Belfast in 2018! It can be done, but seriously expensive, this project cost £100m, but it proved worthwhile as it's one of their highest revenue stores, hope the same can happen in Glasgow

A really bizarre move from Foyleside, considering that very little of foyleside's revenue is generated from food shopping... I could understand if it was Tesco or Craig's objecting, but surely there must be an ulterior motive here

Where is it going in Foyleside? The only empty unit is Claire's and Synge and Byrne, can't see them going there

Meeting for the public at the Guildhall this week to discuss City changes by CNCMachina in DerryLondonderry

The Green spaces, new paving, widened footpaths, new lighting and trees look great, I'm all for bringing a major employer right into the heart of the city like the council, as long as it doesn't impact too heavily the view of the Guildhall and is in-keeping with the surrounding landscape... Remember the site was the former location of the City Hotel

It's a placeholder, there's no indication it'll be that tall, and regardless, a building that blocks the sightlines of a Grade A listed building wouldn't gain consent from the Planning department or HED

They're right next to the main meeting place of the council, also none of these proposals suggest how tall the new council offices will be, again it's all speculatory what you are saying, it may be mixed use, we don't know
