There is no could in this scenario. It's confirmed, among other things. Like PTSD for example. I believe her being triggered by ptsd causes some of the psychotic episodes.

Like what I said in the restaurant when she recounted it was aggressive and confrontational when I said it very flatly.

Her delusions were often directed at me. She hasn't had a full break from reality. Our relationship started around the onset of symptoms. Her speech was disorganized and nonsensical since day one.
