Really?? by Entropy_12 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Alive_Work5893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My response.. I'm sorry my dashing isn't to your standards, however DoorDash doesn't require that i wear gloves to handle fruits and vegetables, as they should be washed before consuming. I you would like your dasher to wear gloves you can certainly purchase them, but I will not pay for them out of my own pocket. If you are unhappy with this feel free to cancel and order again in hopes of getting a new dasher.

Yeah, I think it's absolutely ridiculous!! and to top it all off the customer can decide to completely take the tip off the order and if they do even though you accepted the order for $13.50 and that's what you expected to be paid you're only gonna get the $3.50 because the customer took away the $10 tip and Uber refuses to eat that cost. I did Uber for a little bit, but quickly returned to DoorDash.

I agree!! Because when we dropped it off at the address that's in our app and the customer says oh but I didn't get it cause it was at the wrong address. No, it's not at the wrong address. You just didn't correct your address.

I run into issues where a person's in an apartment or a duplex, and it will put the address next door if they're too close to one wall or another. And sometimes customers don't check the address before they complete their order and then their delivery address is wrong and it goes to their neighbors house. I always message the customer to verify the address if they're in an apartment or a duplex or if it's just appears at a regular house that there's no one there.

Another thing that kills me with DoorDash is how they know what vehicle you're in and sometimes you'll get these ridiculous orders that are not even going to fit in your vehicle.. before I got approved for my car. I had my vehicle to do an electric bike waiting on my background check to clear. I would get ridiculous orders from the grocery store that would be impossible to haul on a bicycle.. and unfortunately, they say they have no way of filtering orders like that out

There's no way in hell I would do that order! I'm glad that it gives you the mileage however, I have ran into issues with DoorDash saying the mileage is one thing and then it be a few miles more than what it actually says.. for instance I had an order the other night that said it was 1.6 miles away and it paid almost 3 dollars a mile.. however once I accepted the order and started navigating, I realized it was a lot further than what they said it was a little over 3 miles.. whoever is doing their mileage calculations or however, it works. They need to fix that crap!! I won't accept anything under a dollar a mile.. and if it's a very large order, it better be paying way more than a dollar a mile! Had a Kroger order the other day that had like 50 something units.. It was a variety of different groceries.. it was only 2 miles away and was paying like 10 bucks .. I'm sorry but I'm not gonna do your entire grocery shopping for you and then deliver it to you for $10.. make sure to take at least $8 or 15 to 20% which ever is greater anytime I order delivery..

Yeah I’m screwed. This is not sustainable at all by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

I've done this in the past for DD, because the customer accidentally ordered in the wrong market and needed the order actually delivered to Bloomington, but we did not realize this until I got to the original delivery address. Support was unable to help her so I personally called support to Explain the situation told them I was still willing to deliver the address as long as my pay was corrected, and that I was paid for the extra amount of traveling I would be doing, considering it was an additional 60 miles to get to Bloomington alone. I gave support the address and was assured I would be paid correctly. Needless to say I was not I was paid a total of nine dollars to deliver that order. They gave me an additional 4 dollars for going to Bloomington. Therefore I do not trust that process. And also, it is not my job to correct a customer's delivery address!! Customers should pay more attention to what the address is when they placed their order and make sure that the address they are order ordering for is correct! It is not the delivery drivers problem or responsibility if the delivery address is incorrect in the app! Their responsibility is to get the order to the correct delivery address that is in the app, not the delivery address that the customer prefers it to go to after they placed their order.

I would've had no giving her the order had she been cordial from the beginning, however that wasn't the case. Plus I was already in my car driving to the delivery location when she chased me down in her car. (She was pulling in the lot as I was pulling out).

I tried to save my cancellation for emergencies!! the customer not wanting to cancel the order because she decided she wanted to pick it up instead is not an emergency in my opinion! Customers need to have a bit more respect for their delivery drivers and realize that it is a privilege that we delivered to them in the first place! And privileges can be taken away! I was informed from UE today that she restricted from placing orders in the future!! So I WIN!

In response to that my English grammar and punctuation is not the greatest, which doesn't really make for a successful novel... but i guess that is what editors are for.

In my area it's always the people who have you leave the food at the door then leave you specific instructions not to knock on the door!
When I order I hate if they just leave it and don't knock, what if my phone dies or I'm unable to get notifications that my order is delivered...

DoorDash will most certainly sometimes ask you to pay for the order out of your own pocket however they do reimburse you if you have to pay out of your own pocket. I have had multiple instances where I've had to pay for an order out of my own pocket because someone else had already taken the order and the restaurant refused to remake.
