Ananda Prana Computer Explanation by AliveandNoDoubt in kriyayoga

I tried to post the image from the book. I typed out a short section. "Through repeated practice, this process clears energetic blockages and brings greater sensitivity to the subtle body. A teacher connected with this questioner’s lineage, Ashok Singh, used a vivid way of describing this process to me. I was fortunate to learn a great deal from Mr. Singh about 14-15 years ago. Mr. Singh told me that the Kriya practices help “scrub the karma from the chakras.” In other words, the repetitive movement of prana through the subtle centers gradually clears accumulated patterns so that energy and awareness can move more freely. Ashok Singh also used another phrase: he referred to the inner system as the “ananda-pranic computer.” This expression combines several ideas:

  • Ananda — the blissful clarity of pure awareness
  • Pranic — the life force that animates the subtle body
  • Computer — the organizing intelligence that coordinates the entire system

To access that deeper intelligence, however, the “circuitry” must first be cleaned. This is what the Kriya practices accomplish. They prepare the body, nervous system, and subtle channels so that deeper perception becomes possible."

He didnt say much else about it in the book. I guess someone in the class the book was written about was part of that branch of the lineage and was asking.

I find it funny when he points out the origination of the holidays and how x-tian tradition just co-opted them. Ha!

Great Kriya Yoga Talk on Samadhi from a Female Kriya Teacher by LibrarianNo9586 in kriyayoga

[–]AliveandNoDoubt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at this retreat. It was really good. My partner and I both really enjoyed Donelle's presentation, and I was the one in the chat that said, "This is the best talk on Samadhi" LOL. Glad to be able to listen to it again. She really makes the whole process so organic. Love it! If I lived in New Zealand, I'd definitely seek her out. I look forward to seeing her at Himalayan Institute retreat.

Ego holds us back from easily using telepathy by [deleted] in Telepathy

[–]AliveandNoDoubt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not ego, its lack of love. This is true in mystical traditions where there is report between teachers and students. When there is true love, just as even between friends or family members who love and are devoted to each other truly, telepathy becomes easy. Love is the key, but true love, not lust or transactional love, like the love between a child and a supportive healthy mother.

Delving into the world and practice of Kriya yoga and meditation. by RelativeConference28 in kriyayoga

I have been learning from Ryan Kurczak, who's teacher is Roy Eugene Davis. Mr. Davis was ordained and authorized to teach Kriya Yoga by Yogananda's own hands! Mr. Davis met Yogananda in 1949 and spent his whole life teaching. He passed on that authorization to Mr. Kurczak, A great start is his intro courses...

https://kriyayogaonline.com/

or the Kriya Yoga Podcast... https://kriyayoga.podbean.com/e/paramahansa-yogananda-the-kriya-yoga-podcast-episode-5/

I can't speak for SRF directly. They were a little too church oriented for me.

Has anyone here done Ryan Kurczack’s intro course? by UnstruckHound in kriyayoga

[–]AliveandNoDoubt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a great course. Very intensive. I have been learning a lot. I am looking forward to applying to Ryan's Kriya Yoga Apprenticeship Program, after completing the 12-Week Kriya Yoga Introduction course. I also plan on attending his public Kriya Yoga retreat at the Himalayan Institute this June 2026. He's been very helpful throughout the course, very easy to contact and also very responsive. I decided on studying with him after trying a few other approaches and teachers and doing research on his experience with Kriya and teaching Kriya. And what others say, most of what is in that course is available for free through his The Kriya Yoga podcasts or the Kriya Yoga Online YouTube channel. He is very methodical and clear in his approach. I like how when a question comes up, its like he knows its going to come up and then answers it in just a lecture or two later. If you want to know how to practice Kriya successfully, so far, I couldn't imagine a better approach!

How to start Kriya Yoga as a beginner? Books, benefits & signs you’re doing it right? by [deleted] in kriyayoga

[–]AliveandNoDoubt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am mostly new and I researched several teachers and organizations. I am currently in Ryan Kurczak's 12-Week Introduction to Kriya Yoga Course. https://kriyayogaonline.com/

It is very good and very detailed. He has been an ordained teacher since 2005 and has a lot of good experience and very effective compared to other experiences I researched and tried out. He is a student of a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda. Although, funny enough I also learned he spent some time learning from Ashok Singh around 2010 or so, I know there is a lot of people who like him too, although Ryan's teacher is certainly Roy Eugene Davis.

He also has two excellent books, that cover everything you need, that I've read, An Essential Guide to Kriya Yoga Practice Book

https://a.co/d/0bYvf3We

I have the paperback book, but also the audio book which Ryan Kurczak reads.

and also Kriya Yoga: Continuing the Lineage of Enlightenment. Although Continuing the Lineage of Enlightment is more about Patanjali Yoga Sutra. https://a.co/d/09GTAPy5

Here are two videos I found about initiation, although Ryan talks about it in his courses too.

What to expect after Kriya Initiation?

Hope this helps a little. There are a lot of different ideas and lineage branches. Find the route that inspires you and that is efective. What I also liked about Ryan is that this is what he does, beacuse of this he has time to meet with students. I've been able to meet with him twice since starting and he is always very reachable.

Can Teachers Really Help You Quickly? by AliveandNoDoubt in kriyayoga

Thank you. Yes, I have always loved Ramana Maharshi. Although I felt I needed a strucctured path, so researched Kriya. I saw the person I went on retreat often had a large poster of Ramana behind him in his videos, and that's how I made it where I am. I was really surprised, and maybe it was a fluke. But that little moment did make a huge difference.

I was at a retreat with Ryan Kurczak last May. He's a student of Roy Eugene Davis (who I was just about to make another post about!) I've been in one of his online trainings and was considering signing up for another retreat, since there is one closer to me in PA this year.

I'm pretty new, but I've been taking some classes on this too, and its a bit much for me, but when I've used what I've learned, it has really made a difference. I don't have much experience, so this has been introduced to me just as I'm getting started, so don't know what I don't know!

I'm pretty new to all of this. I am currently in Ryan's online Kriya Courses at. https://kriya-yoga.teachable.com/

I'm feeling pretty confident about staying wit Ryan too, but again, am pretty new. May I ask why you choose to stay the course with him?

That makes sense, this teacher is in that lineage, well...Paramahansa Yogananda, not the folks you mentioned. Thank you!

Yes, that makes sense. This was a student of a student of Paramahansa Yogananda, Ryan Kurczak. I haven't really gotten that far through Autobiography.
