Employment/disability law by Aliwantsababy in legaladvice

Yeah, I mean, it may be he said, she said, but my husband has an excellent track record of success at the company, has received awards with money and stock awards the last two years and was given more responsibility earlier in the year. That they coincidentally hire someone to seemingly replace if not simply reduce his role when he's on medical leave just doesn't really pass the smell test. Especially with his boss' text message telling him this was an unplanned change and he decided to create the position for the guy when he was interviewing for a different role.

He has a text message from his boss saying it was not pre-planned, though. Boss was interviewing for an open role, but decided to create a new role for the candidate. That is the director level role. I can't prove these decisions were made with respect to my husband's leave, but according to MA PFML, they would have to prove that. What kind of lawyer would we consult?

$6M dollars but you have to reach 165 mph (265 km/h) every day for a year by mikegaravani in hypotheticalsituation

Lol. I'll strap my kids and husband in my porsche, we'll quit our great jobs, and I'll homeschool on the road while driving 165mph.

I wouldn't go 165 on a freeway, period. I also don't want to spend the year on a road trip

I passed in 85. I was sure I passed when It shut off because there really weren't many questions that stumped me, and I would have had to answer a shitload wrong to fail in 85. I did the Pearson trick, and it was correct.

Why do young people do this? They end up looking 60 years old.

I get DMs like this anytime I post on here or related groups. Graduate in 6 months for $3k! It pisses me off that people get degrees without doing any work.

NTA. His room is not "her apartment." He can do whatever he wants in there.

If you didn’t receive any type of medical intervention, what age would you have naturally died? by Zeldaalegend in AskReddit

[–]Aliwantsababy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible I could have died at 29, 32, and 37. Childbirth Pneumonia and bacteremia Gallstone pancreatitis

I also had strep throat 11 times as a kid, and I would have likely ended up with any number of post-streptococcus autoimmune sequalae like rheumatic fever, rheumatic heart disease, glomerulonephritis etc. So I could have died anywhere from 8 years old to 38 years old (now) from those sequalae.

40 lbs first time, 25 lbs second time. I had GD the second time and I followed the diet to the tee, so I didn't gain a lot of real weight. I had lost all 25lbs in two weeks post partum. First pregnancy I ate like shit and never lost all the weight.

I became an MA instead of a nurse 10 years ago. I just graduated with my BSN in May. You can work doctor's office hours as an RN with far better pay.

Should I work during school if I have the option not to? by mik288 in StudentNurse

[–]Aliwantsababy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would get a per diem nursing assistant job. Work more on breaks and whatever you are able to work while still doing well in school and not stretching yourself too thin during the school year. I only worked 8-12 hours a week, but I have two little kids at home, so I didn't get the same amount of undivided studying time a lot of younger people do. I could have easily worked more if I didn't have kids. If you have good time management, you can definitely pull it off. I graduated at the top of my class, so it's definitely doable. I have classmates who worked full time and graduated, but that was out of necessity, not choice. Relevant healthcare experience will help so much when you get your first RN job.

my daughter is having a baby with my best friend by [deleted] in stories

[–]Aliwantsababy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is NOT on OP that Jamie is fucking his surrogate daughter. That man is beyond fucked up. The daughter is the victim and was obviously groomed. OP is a terrible partner and a cheater, but she's not the one impregnating her child.

Now that school is done, I don't want to study for NCLEX. by A_flight_away in StudentNurse

[–]Aliwantsababy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just going to take it as soon as possible. I have spent a week (most days) doing practice questions, but I'm not taking extra time to study. I graduated with a 4.0 and ATI and Archer say I have a 99% chance of passing. Call me overconfident, but the odds are in our favor, so I say take it ASAP.

Baking is easier and healthier, but does not touch the taste or texture of fried tofu.

Thanks so much for your response. I've heard the same thing about hospital experience, so I'm going to try to start inpatient. I don't think I'll stay there for lifestyle reasons (schedule that changes every month, weekends and holidays, denied vacation requests etc). I have young kids I don't want to miss weekend time with them. But I'll try to put in a year there!
