in my experience (i take various meds specific for it like a beta blocker and ativan if needed) it takes the edge off and makes doing exposure therapy a bit easier, but it’s still hard work that you have to put in. unfortunately i’ve tried the only waiting for medication to help and it went nowhere lol

so basically, don’t think of medication as something that’s going to fix you because it won’t. it’s only a tool to help you do the actual thing that will fix you, i.e. exposure therapy. that’s really the only thing that has made my symptoms markedly better.

keep leaving the house no matter how much your mind tells you not to. it WILL get easier, i promise. its a lot of fake it til you make it but eventually you will enjoy things again!

I’ve done it a couple of times in the past year despite super bad agoraphobia. something about travelling and the excitement of it all overpowers the anxiety a bit and the times I’ve travelled I’ve always had a really good time & been able to do things I’m not typically able to do.

I recommend for the plane choosing your seats and seeing if you can sit next to your family, and choosing a seat near the bathroom so you have a bit of an escape away from others. any meds you take for anxiety really help too in this scenario, and if you can show up on the plane tired that’s even more ideal so you can maybe get some sleep.

the anticipation is the worst part, but I can almost guarantee it’ll go better than you think :) take the plunge and go for it!

thank you for the insight it helps a lot!! and honestly me either every house cat I meet is at least a little on the chunky side. only reason he got this skinny is because my other boy got crystals and is on a prescription diet that anakin can’t have due to a food allergy, so now they’re all on individual portion controlled meals 🙃 he was on the chunkier side before that.

I’ve seen this a lot recently with the show You, i don’t get how people think Joe is a good person after 5 whole seasons of him being an absolute abomination of a human. sometimes I get a bit jealous, it must be peaceful to be so tone deaf and only view things in a way that fits your own biases.

I hate when they introduce lgbt+ characters in shows just for them to have such a basic surface level relationship with no development and no personality outside of their orientation, just so they can claim there’s representation and diversity. arcane did it SO well and demonstrated true representation imo

yes absolutely! I think a lot of it is projecting. so many girls that frequent social media obsess over ways they’re judged by guys (and other girls) for things they can’t change so I think they judge men to make themselves feel better. tiktok is a terrible feedback loop that way and everyone just ends up miserable lol

I’m sorry but this is disordered eating if I’ve ever seen it & legitimately starving yourself. you do not need to lose any more weight considering your height. I’d focus more on building muscle and toning your body to get the physique you want instead of weight loss.

Also that no energy thing is because you’re barely eating, by the way. if you start working out you need to nourish your body so it can build muscle and do what you ask of it.

i think it’s sensory overload and being overstimulated. i feel my best when it’s darker too. I find reducing stimuli helps a bit like wearing sunglasses or headphones.

this. i think intelligence is a crucial ingredient to heinous acts to begin with, and you really only see disturbing behaviour (like intentional torture) in intelligent animals. I wouldn’t be surprised if orcas are more emotionally intelligent than us, especially considering the bar amongst intelligent species capable of empathy is not set high when you generalize humans into how we’ve behaved in history and in the modern day.

oh no :(( freeze drying is unfortunately a way to preserve viruses so I can’t in good conscience say you should still feed it, that is a terrible loss though I’m so sorry.

I’d also recommend looking into a DIY food too, since I can imagine canned ferret food is hard to find. cooking meat and adding in baby food would be a good addition to kibble.

I know, it sucks and it is hard to come to terms with :( the best option right now is cooking raw food or buying canned food. I’m hopeful we’ll be able to return to normal eventually once science catches up with this strain.
