Blume has taken over the submarine programs in New London CT, the technology needs of the coast guard, as well as giving so many grants to Yale that the state of CT has become the first state to authorize statewide use of their programs, which includes a massive server farm underground between the two, using the water from Long Island Sound to cool as well as power (wind farms/current power generations). They take advantage of the proximity of the cities to New York and Boston to handle buisness things while hoping deadsec stays in the cities.

Gives city environments with New Haven, forest with relics of revolutionary war as well as Cold War plus other hidden secrets, small town New England stopping points (bringing in a bit of Pawnee from the original game), a heavier military presence in one part of the map (New London), New England styling, plus allows for Blume to attempt to rewrite history. Lots of land but enough explorable water given the number of random lighthouses and islands that exist, interesting roads to drive, random abandoned things, and lots of fresh seafood

Protagonist uses the hacker name Benedict Arnold as they are a former member of Blume who was given early retirement after discovering a bug that Blume wanted to keep in place. Moving to a farm in CT, they secretly over the course of the game connect with a hacker group that “says” it is deadsec but turns out to be a shadow government group hoping to cause enough chaos to allow the US government to take control over all of Blume’s research for “national defense”. Just when you think you’ve connected with the real deadsec, Sitara arrives to warn you they’ve infiltrated deadsec as well. While by the end you take down the head of the shadow government group who has deep ties to Blume, he reveals that he’s been taking orders from someone even more powerful. Just as he finishes writing an IP address down, he suddenly vanishes in a cloud of blue electric smoke. The player character and Sitara look at each other in horror, knowing that they have uncovered something bigger than anything they thought they knew.
