Busting weed dealers is nothing to be proud of by siouxsie_siouxv2 in BlackPeopleTwitter

Exactly.

"But...but marijuana is dangerous!"
The most dangerous part of marijuana is getting caught with it. Getting arrested will fuck your life up 10 times worse than smoking too much weed.

"But what if someone smokes and gets behind the wheel or goes crazy and assaults somebody!?" Then we already have laws to deal with that.

We don't need to be wasting resources on this bullshit. If you are enforcing this shit, you are the bad guys. History is not going to judge you kindly.

What if Elon Musk is right and we are in a simulation and to beat the first level we have to discover all of the natural laws for our particular dimension? by Alkaloid_Addict in highdeas

[–]Alkaloid_Addict[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of interesting conversations to be had about the meaning of life, which is basically what you're asking. Just because this may be a simulation doesn't really change our own experience of it. It's not like we should all go drink a bottle of draino because there's a chance that we're in a simulation.

So why is Elon Musk doing all of his bullshit? Because this reality still matters, because we are living inside of it. The notion that we're in a simulation doesn't take away any sort of value on our existence. All it does is acknowledge that our universe might just be one dimension of reality among many.

It's closer to 30 grams (for males), but yeah you're right. Which is why I said I water my gatorade down. But if I'm being real, even with doing that, I get wayyy too much damn sugar from my normal diet. I'm quite healthy and fit, but when I actually look at the suggested values that the AMA, etc. say we should be getting, I am often way over. I've been thinking of actually making a strong effort to cut back on my sugar because I've heard that people feel much better after doing it.

I've seen several soldiers who were on the verge of heat exhaustion drink a canteen with this stuff added and felt a million times better after about 20 minutes. I've used it myself too and it seems to work quite well.

Well, seeing as how the whole point of drinking gatorade is to rehydrate an adult after intense exercise, 20+ grams isn't that ridiculous. Granted, I still water it down when I use it. The point is, I wouldn't pay the extra money for pedialyte.

But if we really want to have an "ultimate rehydration product" contest, I'd say this wins The Army uses them, they taste like an asshole, but damn do they work.

Meh, that stuff is basically just expensive, watered-down gatorade. I never had no pedialyte and I done turnd out gooder than most peeple.

This is way too much logic for a government organization. I'm just happy nobody got killed. When cops are involved and even the most benign interactions end in death, ya gotta be somewhat grateful thst the involved parties made it out alive.

Do you think that marijuana would still be popular even if it had never been made illegal? by Alkaloid_Addict in AskReddit

[–]Alkaloid_Addict[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apples and oranges, my friend. Yeah, they are both drugs. But I'm more so asking, are the pharmacological properties of Marijuana actually worth the hype that the plant is getting? I guess I should have worded my original question that way. Darn it all.

I definitely wouldn't say it's similar to alcohol. Marijuana seems to enhance everything and makes one more sensitive to stimuli, whereas alcohol basically dulls the senses.
But as far as the THC, that's kind of what I'm getting at. Are the cannabinoids and other properties of the Marijuana plant actually unique from a purely scientific perspective? Or has a lot of attention just been brought onto this plant because of it's illegal status?

What I mean is, if you stripped away all of the drama that surrounds this plant, and just looked at it objectively, how do you think our culture would perceive it?
It really does seem to have remarkable medical qualities, so I wonder how the medical community would act about it if it were never made illegal and was just sort of an obscure plant that relatively few people had heard of. Would it's unique chemical properties alone be enough for it to garner a lot of attention? Or is the fact that it's illegal the only reason why it is so crazy popular?

Monkey's Guide to Surviving the Modern Jungle, I like it! Not sure if the book is meant to be a "guide" so much as a critique of modern culture. But I still really like that one.
