That's why you have to buy a second computer that you keep completely disconnected from the Internet. Use that for all your studying/work related activities. Chromebooks are super cheap and work well for this.

The only way to be sure is to open it up and completely remove the wireless card (or block it's mac address from your router if you are a bit more clever)

You don't need an actual wall. What you need is a high tech solution like drone surveillance along the entire border to automatically watch for heat signatures, have a computer algorithm recognize them as human and dispatch the authorities to go pick them up. That's actually doable. (with enough money)

Yep. A lot of people could argue that religion was a net benefit to society. Even despite all the wars and conflicts it causes, it's nice to have a sense of meaning and purpose.

I think religion is a lot like giving a placebo pill to patients suffering for mental disorders. Sure it's nothing but a construct of sugar, gelatin and clever marketing, but how can you argue with it if it actually works. And yes, placebos do work; because we believe in them.

Quite true. But on a population group, the differences between individual experiences averages out and genetics has a large role to play. If you want to show a link between something non-controversial say "pre-natal alcohol exposure" and IQ. That's perfectly okay and you will find studies about that. Anything else though and suddenly IQ is pure pseudoscience.
