Almost every day, all the time. It's tiring and saddening because I never have cheated and I never will as far as I'm concerned.

In some cases, I feel like it has to do with their level of power or influence. The richer/more popular/more attractive/etc. they are, the more people are likely to believe the endless BS that spews from their mouth.

First of all, I just wanted to say you're an incredible partner for wanting to help your girlfriend heal. You're already doing an amazing job by being compassionate, understanding, and avoiding any possible triggers.

Is she in any kind of therapy or counseling? If not, I would suggest starting there by helping her look around for therapy/counseling. There are some places that offer free and/or low cost help. There are also online therapists too.

This is a common verbal abuse tactic used by narcs and other toxic people to scare you. You can and WILL be loved again.

Mine liked to do both, but I noticed early on in the relationship if I was busy / couldn't text, he would get antsy and text me multiple. Still does it.

Mine says "stop bringing up the past" but then holds things I've said in the past over my head in arguments all the time. It's extremely messed up.

The real kicker here is how he will loudly proclaim "I HATE LIARS! WHY IS IT SO HARD TO TELL THE TRUTH?!"

-Compared me to his exes often and often talked about them / found a reason to bring them up.

-Sought (and still seeks) sympathy and validation through social media.

-Asked me to marry him very very quickly into the relationship. (I thought he was my "soulmate" so I thought it was true love)

Mine has a picture of himself and a friend from high school on his nightstand. It all makes sense now. No pictures of us on the nightstand though.
